I haven't been following the progress of this Filterscape update but just gave it a spin. The plugin does seem to introduce several samples of latency which are not compensated in Cubase 11 Pro. The number of samples introduced varies when turning on/off clipping too.
I'm testing with the VST3 x64 version on Windows 11 Pro.
Simple reproduction:
1. Create an audio track, and place an audio clip on it
2. Duplicate the audio track, invert the phase, notice they cancel
3. Add Filterscape onto one of the tracks, hopefully the problem will be easily evident then
Love the sound of the new version, but this sort of problem would be a real issue for me personally.

Yeah. Q6 does run at the display refresh rate, but not at sizes of 130% or higher.tasmaniandevil wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2023 8:24 amThe plugins all run at the refresh rate of the display they are on. So if your display runs at 60Hz, that's what the plugins will choose.exmatproton wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:26 pm 1 thing though; the synth and Filterscape run @ 60 to 80 fps where as the Q6 variant is running @ 15 to 30 fps..
How do you determine that Q6 runs at 15Hz on your display?
I use FL Studio's fps counter. The plugin felt sluggish, i enabled the counter and saw it only runs at low fps.

Hey, thanks, we can reproduce it.exmatproton wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2023 8:03 pm Yeah. Q6 does run at the display refresh rate, but not at sizes of 130% or higher.

It happens only on Windows, and only if you set an odd GUI size, e.g. 130 or 150%.
When you then grab an EQ handle and move it around, the frame rate drops.
If you set an even size, like 120 or 140%, you should be good.

Ah awesome..will check that nowtasmaniandevil wrote: Mon Aug 21, 2023 6:51 amHey, thanks, we can reproduce it.exmatproton wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2023 8:03 pm Yeah. Q6 does run at the display refresh rate, but not at sizes of 130% or higher.

yes..i can reproduce that as well. Funny that i only tested 130, 150 and 170..what are the odds (pun intended)

I presume that odd scalings give us half a pixel ratios and the bitmaps have to be resampled every frame. Not sure if we can do anything about that timely, but moving to hardware accelerated drawing is one of our goals we'll focus on next...

TBH I never understood why you don't allow "nice" ratios like 125, 175, etc.

We lay out our UIs in a grid of 10 px at 100%. This way the grid scales to integer values in steps of 10%, such that bitmaps can be resampled to integer boundaries.EvilDragon wrote: Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:26 pm TBH I never understood why you don't allow "nice" ratios like 125, 175, etc.![]()
(which apparently in Q6 isn't the case for some controls where this is crucial, which leads to additional computation at 130% etc.)

You guys are a good company. My solution to this would be: next update only allows GUI sizes in even numbers. So...80, 100 120, 140, 160, 180, 200%.
Bug closed. No hardware acceleration needed!

Just wanted to say thanks. The timbre and pressure are working per note as expected. I'm looking forward to all the other synths being updated! Does this mean that there is a chance you can do the same for Zebra?

Filterscape VA - I find F-VA satisfying for plucked sounds with good variety from sharp attacks to more rounded but still with some snap.

This is a lovely update, wonderful GUI and features. However, it doesn't seem to find the presets - the preset browser tells me "updating database", but never seems to finish this. Known bug, or a beta thing? (Hope it's o.k. to ask here - if not, it would be fab to point me to the proper thread.)
