Final Mix outside of Tracktion?

I know it probably can't be done, but worth asking anyway. I'd like to use it with Live.
Are there any free mastering plug ins that anyone can recommend if Final Mix can't be un-bundled? I'd mostly like something that I can 'demo' mastering early in the production process, hence why I don't just use Final Mix inside Tracktion (which is playing the final mastering role just fine).

you dont even need finalmix, just use tls maximizer or a fav maximizer of choice on master bus, a multiband compressor (theres a free one somewhere), and nyquist 5 parametric eq. there you go

But I like Final Mix. It's a lot easier and faster to create a few presets for mastering and plop the plug-in on the mix that do it all manually every time. Of course I know I could do it all with multiple plugs on the master bus. But if you like to do it the hard way, more power to you. But I have to say it seems your comment was intended to 'show what you know' more than to be helpful, it was quite obvious what I was asking for. It seems almost insulting that you would make such a comment really. Sorry if I'm wrong, but it seems to fit your M.O.rpc9943 wrote:you dont even need finalmix, just use tls maximizer or a fav maximizer of choice on master bus, a multiband compressor (theres a free one somewhere), and nyquist 5 parametric eq. there you go

Just a question, something I've never tried: can you use three ReWire devices at the same time? It may be interesting to use Reason as well, if I'm going the ReWire route anyway.
I really wish there were some sort of ReWire session manager or something, that would sit outside all the apps and manage projects, defining general routing and allow you to launch all the apps in the required order to get everything functioning correctly. I wouldn't mind ReWire so much if this were possible. I'd just invest in more RAM and live a blissful existence.

Sounds like you're describing JACK..braj wrote:I really wish there were some sort of ReWire session manager or something, that would sit outside all the apps and manage projects, defining general routing and allow you to launch all the apps in the required order to get everything functioning correctly. .. whats the chance of T2 having a Linux version then?

JACK, can you elaborate? Thanks!platinumears wrote:Sounds like you're describing JACK..braj wrote:I really wish there were some sort of ReWire session manager or something, that would sit outside all the apps and manage projects, defining general routing and allow you to launch all the apps in the required order to get everything functioning correctly. And regarding JACK, isn't that just for OS X and Linux? Anyway, it isn't really what I was referring to. I was referring to some sort of master control application for all Rewire devices. But I'm still not sure if ReWire works with more than two applications, does anyone have info on that? If it only works with two then I guess you don't really need something extra.

It's death by a thousand cuts with Ron. Some trolls are entertaining, others just fight a war of attrition. Ron, in his own little way, is definitely in the latter camp.braj wrote: Sorry, but with all his other posts, I just couldn't stand it anymore.
