What are you not able to find?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Note

Google 'deep note moorer' you'll find a ton of stuff. eg
https://hackaday.com/tag/deep-note/
https://earslap.com/article/recreating- ... -note.html
https://cdm.link/2015/04/thx-deep-note- ... nic-sound/
Its been redone in soundcollider, javascript, all sorts. Moorer redid it himself, as per the cdm link above.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Great article here. Says it's from a Cello but also says it was randomly generated by a computer :
Manipulating the sound of a cello as a base, Moorer wrote a “score” that consisted of 20,000 lines of computer code, which then randomly spit out a new sound every time the program was run.
Lucasfilm lost the original recording of the sound. Asked to re-create the noise, Moorer quickly ran into difficulties. Because a computer program randomly generated the original Deep Note, there was no way to reproduce it exactly. “They kept complaining it didn’t sound the same,” Moorer said.
Luckily, the THX Deep Note’s original recording eventually turned back up,

In the CDM article he says the score and sound files are about 300 lines each, it only felt like 20k. I was wondering! Even my code isn't that prolix!osiris wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 8:41 pm https://www.fastcompany.com/3027361/the ... -deep-note

It does. It would take days to go through that much code. I miss the THX sound before a movie. Quite something on those theater sound systems.

Is there some specific reason to do it using Pure Data?Alex Baril wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 10:38 pm I want to recreate the THX sound effect using Pure Data, can anyone point me in the right direction?
You might be able to do it more easily in some synth or sampler, like Kontakt.
