...don't have a 303 plugin up to now, so I was hoping for an Arturia one after getting into V Collection. Did not expect it, though, because of all the other clones available, but I'm quite pleased, they did it.

I just looked at the manual and at the automatable parameters - changing sequencer patterns either via midi cc / program change / host automation or key switch does not seem to be possible - or did I miss something?

(...can't wait for the filter plugin as a christmas freebie... :D  )

I'm actually glad you admitted to your crime so publicly. I forwarded it to the authorities and they'll be with you shortly.

lmao. i honestly dont even like the classic aggressive acid sound with those screaming resonances, i find it annoying hahha. but then on the other hand i like that typical bleep sound techno, which other people hate :D

This is worth $49 (okay big discount for previous owners) just for the sequencer and midi out. If people can't see the value in that, then fine, choose some other product, but I'm extremely happy I bought this at such a fair price.

Yeah, this is so much more fun than other 303 emulations.

Plenty of demand for 303s in any form. Behringer sold scads of their TD-3s along with their modded out Devilfish knockoff TD-3 MO variant.

seems like if they were gonna do it they'd do the faithful recreation but add a bunch of special sauce to make it so much more. the 303 is a funky useful paradigm for creating music and if they added different sound engines it'd be so much more interesting. FM really sounds amazing when doing acid style stuff with it. it can be really squelchy and digital but also really percussive.

I'm imagining the huge balloon from The Prisoner only it's a big yellow happy face and bounces at 155 BPM

The sequencer in Phoscyon 2 is not the same as in Acid V. Acid V has the Polymetric feature. But otherwise, Phosycon 2 is a fine sounding and feature rich alternative, I just don't like how it looks personally. Also, upgrading from version 1 to version 2 still costs 45 Euros which I will not be doing now since I have Acid V.

Sending Acid V's MIDI out to Phosycon 2... Sounds like a dumb idea? Who knows tho!

this thing is a lot of fun. sounds great. you can get lost in this silver box. thanks, Arturia

yeah but how many would've bought one if it wasn't $100? at that price a lot of people bought it on a whim. pricing it at $100 induces demand. it's not like all those people were yearning for a 303.. but when one shows up so cheap they say f**k it.. for a hundred dollars why not.

and i'm not saying it's a bad thing or Acid V isn't good.. i just wish it more under the hood. it would've been nice to have it more capable and I think arturia missed an opportunity to do something a lot more interesting while also still making a faithful software recreation of a 303. i'm not saying that everyone doesn't love a 303. obviously.. lot's of people love a 303.

Sounds nice, I'll wait for a sale to upgrade to V Collection 10 though.
I'm presuming this will be included.

If you're going to do a simple one-osc synth, this is the way to do it. Throw in a bonus sub-osc, have a fun, easy to use sequencer that outputs MIDI along with an arp mode and support for polyrhythms, add a bunch of modulators with an easy to use drag and drop system, add FX that also have a bunch of modulation targets. This might not be the most authentic 303, but I felt no urge to even compare to ABL because Acid V sounds pretty damn good on it's own, and it's so much more fun than the ABL3. At least for me.
