tl;dr
I have Waveform Free set up to record from Roland TD-27 drum module. After I fail to play a good take, how do I erase all the tracks to start again?
TMI
I'm old, but I'm new to all of this. It may that my workflow is wrong.
The goal is to record me playing my TD-27kv2 drum kit along with a drumless backing track, then adjust (just) the mix afterwards. I've successfully configured and connected the drum module to Waveform Free (Windoze) via USB. Each drum has its own digital (mono) track, plus there are stereo pairs of tracks for the room and overhead/effects. I've also imported a drumless backing track, for a total of 14 tracks. And I can play the backing track while recording the drums.
Since I suck at playing, I screw up and want to re-record. But after that first time, things are confusing. If I record again, it plays the previous tracks and it mixes the new take with the last. (I did see a way to change this to replace instead on the Waveform User Guide, but it seems to only be for MIDI?) If I highlight all the tracks (except the backing track) and press Delete, it deletes the entire set of tracks. I just want to delete the data.
I've searched for clear, erase, delete, etc. in the User Gulde, online, and specifically in this forum. But I'm not finding how to just get rid of the previous contents and try again (and again, and again...).
Is this the right workflow? If it is, how do I clear those tracks? And if it's not, what is the normal workflow?

Just highlight the actual clips and delete. Not the track, just the clip. By default this should just remove the recording from the edit, it should still exist in the recorded folder. There is an option to 'delete and remove source file' which you can assign to a keyboard shortcut. I use this a lot for mis takes/recordings, but be careful, it does what it says lol.

There is an 'Abort' for recording ( search in Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts to set/change shortcut ), but obviously if you have finished recording this will not work and you will need to do the following :-
Also you can just select 1 'Clip' and press CTRL A to select all clips in the Edit and press the delete key, therefore no need to delete the actual Tracks.
EDIT// Just realising that CTRL Z should just undo the recording, which might be the easiest method.

Thanks to all the responses. The Ctrl-A (plus Ctrl + click to de-select the backing track) then Delete is exactly what I needed.
I had seen the abort and guessed what it did. For now I'd like to listen to the takes, warts and all, so I haven't used that feature yet.
The videos are very helpful as well. Currently, I'm trying to actually learn to play, and that includes being able to play through a whole song without a mistake (annoyingly difficult), and with proper rhythm throughout (which I apparently can't hear while playing, making the recording & playback an important tool). If...err...When I can do that, then I'll be able to add some artistic choices, and this will be very helpful.
Thanks again!
