Tours mean nothing.? ? ? wrote: Thu Aug 24, 2023 9:01 pm Getting on a chart means nothing if it cannot be backed up by a successful tour.
It clearly did them more good than it did Blur or the Verve. If KLF really did have a number 1 in the States (which i doubt - it is more likely marketing hype to help sell records), it did them no good.
Anyway, the KLF's mates were in control of Blur. Zoo Music then Food, nuff said.
Obviously, they didnt need to.I don't think they even toured the States ever. .

Anyway the only decent thing Damien Allbran ever did was the music for Reykjavik 101.

The old adage ‘Opinions are like a’holes… everybody has one’ comes to mind when perusing the comments here.
The KLF! Bloody excellent!
And Mr Allbrans ‘Gorillaz’ have had some brilliant moments.
I think we mix up our antipathy towards an artists perceived personality/character with the music/art they create. Not good!

It was #1 because of Tammy Wynette on vocals on the single. I still have the Extended Mix vinyl I'll admit. I'd never even heard of Blur until I was in London and a club DJ played Common People. I still have that CD.

blur did country house and parklife around that time, as well as others but they were the catchy pop bits.

Anyway, I wasnt that serious. I wasnt a fan of Blur, but R101 did tip me off that he was a bit more interesting than 'parklife' let on...

and i know osiris is american, but mistaking blur for pulp, is quite offensive as a "northerner" even if they are from tother coast.
