In terms of recording, all of my collabs are also online. In my case I just haven't found many people at all (if any) in my area who are either into working on the styles of music I personally enjoy, or have a personality I can work with in real-time. And believe me, I've spent many, many years trying (most of the musicians I've known and/or worked with around here are all classic-rawk types who look at anything with some electronics in it as "that disco stuff" and make annoyingly pointless non-sequitor comments when played anything fairly new like: "But...how you can possibly compare that to Yes?")

To be honest, after spending so many years trying to do so with local people (literally decades), I find working remotely with online people much more satisfying...you're not confined to geographical boundaries when trying to find someone you can musically mesh with. :)

Having said that, I have recently joined a small local acoustic cover-band trio that I'll be playing out with soon. But it's purely for the sake of making a few extra dollars while having some fun playing and singing some easy cover tunes once or twice a month if that...there's no desire to create and record anything new with these guys, which is just fine with me. It leaves me plenty of time to continue working on that at my own leasure myself. :)

Up North is a total stonker, and you know it :)

many people did collabs
many people have steady daytime jobs and not so much time to make agreements and really follow them up
i found myself making promises at times and simply had to delay them time after time .. i don't know about other people but if i can work 3 hours on a piece that is very very much.esides many of us including me are manic-depressive. Not very good when youre in a band

if i would be in a online band it would be Matias JDG and Me ..Matias and Jdg because i find their productions the most in my taste :) me because I'm not so good at producing but my voice combines reasonably with their music

the basic ideas are done alone, but when the basics are done i usually collaborate with non-computer music peeps, the way they do and see things are way different and most of the times things i would never do start to happen, makes it much more interresting for me and concerning the results.

i must admit, chipping up to my mate's place with the laptop in tow, getting pissed up and recording whatever happens is a damned sight more fun than Wombling about at home.

Of course it does mean you have a whole load of stuff to sort out once you get back...

Musically I work alone. For words, I'm in with a load of really good poets.

Considering that most music outside KVR actually is called songs, I just find it strange so few people work with vocals around here. And if they do, it's usually their own or their spouse's (eg. Bucodi).
