Yes, easily. In fact maybe that'd be preferable in some ways. Can I collect samples from different sources in this scenario? If so even easier.

Would I want to? No, no that sounds boring. I like new interesting different stuff. Some pragmatically speaking more useful than others, but that's another story.

If you think you need more than one DAW, you just haven't found the right one yet.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

you could still live a sad and colourless life :-D.
Yes, so I would need both Colour Copy and Pigments
Ha ha, indeed...

Yes, just Ardour and Surge XT is enough. I have no need for anything else at the moment.

When I think about what I did with almost nothing, I know I could. Maybe Bitwig and U-He. Do I get to keep my hardware?

That would be cheating! One hardware + Bitwig would be ok 👍 In that case MODX + Cubase (or Bitwig) would do it for me ;)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yes, probably many combinations. Actually i could get by with just Reaktor. Normally i would add Reaper but in this event i would likely say Ableton Live Suite or Bitwig. Technically i guess i could have all on NI (Kompletely Komplete) and Live Suite. Yeah, that could keep me busy for a long while.
i would probably be good with Bitwig and U-he. Or Nuendo and all the other Steinberg stuff.

OK, then I’ll stick to my first answer. I love my hardware synths, but if push came to shove, I’d choose a full ITB workflow. I figure, U-He covers classic analog synthesis and effects, cutting edge digital synthesis and effects, good variety and customer service. Bitwig has The Grid and good internal effects. Yeah, I could live with that. There’s no single hardware synthesizer that covers all that. I do keep my guitar and HX Stomp, though. That’s a different deal. 8)

How dare you ask? :D

My first choice was Bitwig and U-he.

I could also be satisfied with Logic and U-he.

I could live with just one daw (that's definitely not an issue! I have a few, but I usually work with Cubase) and one developer's bundle. The later part would be difficult though, I'd choose from 3-5 brands at least, probably up to ten (Arturia, Eventide, Native Instruments, Plugin Alliance, PSP Audioware, Softube, SoundToys, Steinberg...). Of course I don't need to buy bundles from all of them, I could just pick a few singles (although bundles make sense past a certain point... I have a few bundles, indeed).

Anyway, I started with nothing (Cubasis VST bunled with a SoundBlaster Live! Platinum... and I had a cheap Casio keyboard) and I managed to make my first tracks (which sounded horrible, but that's another story) with very limited means; a proper daw and a good instruments/fx bundle is much more than that, so I could definitely be productive but it wouldn't be an ideal situation, because I like to have access to some specific tools from various brands.

i could probably live with none. or without any instruments at all even.
would just be shit.

Really depends on what genres of music you're into. If you're into country music, then I don't think Live and Arturia are going to fully satisfy your requirements.

I’m the same. Right now, I am quite happy using:

Reaper
Tal-sampler
Tal-drums
Diva
Repro
Hive
Sfizz
Uhbik

But even with those few things, I’d want to add:

AudioThing Fog Convolver
AudioThing Vintage Tape Echo
AudioDamage EOS2
HY-Plugins HY-Slicer2

So that would be one DAW and five companies and one open source product.

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)
