1.Go to department projects
2.select any audio file
3.in the bottom menu and select the method for editing
or choose an external audio editor

I think the option may have been removed in Linux as far as being able to choose an external audio editor within Waveform settings. The option is there as someone has stated, to use your default editor on your linux system, but if you have set your desktop to open audio files with an audio player, this will be what is chosen.
As ARA is not implemented on Linux , even if you choose for example Audacity as your system audio player/editor any changes that you make on the audio file will not be updated in realtime within Waveform, pretty much making this ability useless.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

yeah good point, I should have added that
I had melodyne working through w.i.n.e some time ago, but I can't remember if I tried to get it to run in an older version of Waveform, where you could choose an external editor IIRC.

That option doesn't appear, and (Launch this wave file in its default application) does nothing

I think if someone give a W12 configuration file with an assigned editor I could open with a text editor and set it.

I've found a bit of a workaround for this problem.
1. Select an audio clip.
2. At the bottom of the Control Panel (the big one at the bottom of the screen), click "View Source Info."
3. Click "Edit Audio File."
4. Select "Launch this wave file in its default application."
On my machine, the file is indeed opened by its default application. If I apply changes and save it, the changes are reflected immediately in the Waveform project.
The only bad part is how many clicks that requires. The Keyboard Shortcuts section does list "Launch external wave editor for selected clip" and I added a shortcut for it, but it doesn't work. Nothing happens. If they fix just that, it will be awesome.
I hope this helps.
