Basically, yes, they rarely try to pirate the program, given that the balance of necessity and glitches varies greatly. Version 12 at the same time has a number of additions that perfectly improve life, but a number of functions are still generally unstable. All these arguments are rather due to taste and understanding of the need for certain functions. To be frankly direct, I generally did not see a serious need for the pro version in general, it is rather material support for the developer and the developer is obviously aware of this.
The developers don't read what they say here, but really it would be impossible to post a pro version on patreon, and open a free one on github? There is a feeling that Analog Obsession is in trouble, and the developers of JUCE are trying to drive their users to other daws by all means available to them. They posted several pieces of code on the github, as if the source code of the entire studio could not be closed under license like juce itself.
How many questions, no single answer.

His current thing is trying to develop plugins that compile at runtime. At first it was called SOUL but now goes by Cmajor - two words that will pretty much only find websites that have nothing to do with plugins when you search for them.

But anyways, yes, there is almost certainly crossover with Waveform and JUCE even if it's only informal and/or devs that have moved from one to the other.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

yes @pough, I know that. And this knowledge only makes me sad. The people behind the development of all this cannot create seamless operation of their products. But JUCE, nowadays, is not only about sound. In fact, it doesn’t matter what Waveform is written with, if you look at other DAWs, they don’t have so many problems.

That's part of the problem with Spire and more:

Removing the plugin and adding a new one does not seem to fix the problem either. But, I’ll try again, since Waveform lives its own life with every new discovery. ;)
In general, Waveform 12 reminds me of applications written in Java. When working, some function can fall off at any moment, and then turn on... And most likely it does not depend on the language)

I have just recently been looking for an opportunity to solve the stability of plugins, I have tested a lot of pads and wrappers and so far the only thing that has given an adequate result is AudioGridder 1.1, written in juce and with the same new version that does not work in waveform, only the old version of audiogridder 1.1 works fine. I started the program server and tested the izotope ozone 10 function auto mastering, which began to work and not break the sandbox of waveform at the same time. This is not an elegant solution, the program is very inconvenient, but it works, I use it as a kind of freeze of the plugin chain, taking out heavy effects from the daw. Most importantly, the plug-in chain inside audiogridder is saved together with edit and stably loaded afterwards. Unfortunately, with more stable operation, unlike jbridge, audiogridder does not allow you to replace the used plugin, since it is itself a separate wrapper plugin. But this is probably the best possible crutch for waveform at the moment.
I have been constantly returning to the waveform 11.1 version for several years now, for me this is the most convenient version of the program that lacks some functions, but most of the strange tracktion solutions are definitely missing.

By the way, you all realized a long time ago that waveform is a portable application? But with some indescribably deep thought at the same time stores all the presets created by the user in the appdata folder?
I made a bat file that I put next to the installed version of the program, there is only one line in it

Code: Select all

cmd /c mklink /j "%AppData%\Tracktion" "%~dp0Tracktion"
this allows you to save all the presets of plugins normally
