Can you give an example for where you feel that it's too limited?

Bite (mode 1) has the least rolloff. It's pretty close to flat until above 20khzjtsterays wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 3:52 am Any chance you could extend Diva's cutoff range? I assume its not a simple value change so might be too big of a request.

I wont say its too limited, but after hearing Repros (and other emulations) sizzly high end, Diva in comparision sounded a bit dull to me. I know i can just EQ to bring back the highs, i dont mind doing it that much but thats kinda lame you know because iirc, the reason it was lowered because of high CPU usage (might be wrong) but its 2023 now.Viktor [TUC] wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:55 am Can you give an example for where you feel that it's too limited?
Also a button to swap the effects order too, almost forgot about that.

If Diva could could get higher filter cutoff frequencies, which I feel is a legit request, I guess it would have to be done in a way as not to break compatibility. Maybe filter cutoff knobs with values greater than 100%? Or just leave it be until an eventual Diva 2.0. For most use-cases it's a non-issue as there's usually some LP filtering taking place, but there are times where you truly want the filter truly wide open. Like maybe I want a mono Diva voice with the cutoff wide open so I can audition some MIDI triggered Cytomic filters doing cutoff duties. Or maybe I just want a super buzzy high end.

Filterscape VA has an option to bypass the filter. That seems the most expedient for not affecting existing presets.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 6:00 pm If Diva could could get higher filter cutoff frequencies, which I feel is a legit request, I guess it would have to be done in a way as not to break compatibility. Also with F-VA, on the new AM filter models, you can use a constant as mod source and increase the filter cutoff frequency above the limit of the cutoff knob. (Doesn't work in Diva)
My guess is that with the circuit modeling in Diva and it would difficult to extend the cutoff range without affecting the sound of existing presets. But that is just a guess.
An existing option is to keep the filter cutoff at max and add some resonance. That works differently for each of the 5 filter models, but generally speaking, it makes a brighter high end.
Doing the same in Filterscape VA using the new AM LP model gives a flat response up to 40khz (96khz project)

New Diva skin is WIP. Looking good. but WIP.
Filters go to 20kHz or so, which corresponds to "how things used to be". If a filter closes at 20kHz, it already attenuates an octave or two below, because at the cutoff frequency it already attenuates like 6 out 12 dB. So at 10kHz you already hear the damping. A bit of resonance usually does the trick, but it also costs CPU.
One reason Repro became its own thing is that the cutoff opens up to way beyond 30kHz. The parameter and modulation ranges of your vintage Sequentials were way bigger than those of your classic Moog and Rolands and Korgs.
New Filterscape filters open up there as well. Good stuff.
We can't wait do it again and add a "Cutoff XL" button or something to Diva. It's -> not <- gonna happen anytime soon, and this thread will probably long forgotten. But I want do it, I just have a few other things I also need and want to attend to.

Umm… I think I missed something somewhere and I try pretty hard to keep up on U-he stuff.

People have been asking about a larger editor for Diva, because HiRes screens and stuff, and we've been working on a skin that's something like twice the size as the current one.
My comment you quoted was in reply the one further up:

Yeah... couldn't find a multi-quote button like some forums have and couldn't be bothered to open multiple tabs and quote both on my tablet.Urs wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 5:16 pmPeople have been asking about a larger editor for Diva, because HiRes screens and stuff, and we've been working on a skin that's something like twice the size as the current one.

I thought there might be a new more cohesive DIVA skin in the works (where all the modules have a similar vibe). Whoever is doing your newer skins has been doing amazing work. I appreciate the information!
