Why updating waveform to newest version? (pros & cons)

This may be a stupid question, but what are the pros and cons of updating the newest upgrade of waveform?
Do i have to upgrade everytime a new version is available?
Why should i upgrade, or why shouldn't i?
(Sorry but my philosophy is: Never change a running system and i'm afraid something bad happens.
Maybe something bad happens by not updating lol)
I'm curious what the difference would be?

I don't know what version you presently have.
For me, personally, the best was 11.1 through 11.5, inclusive. Very stable, lots of improvements, and some very nice features.
I upgraded to 12.1, even though it didn't offer a whole lot more. In retrospect, I'd have been very happy staying with 11.5. I don't think 12.1 performs that much better, and in some ways the new audio engine isn't as reliable as the "new audio engine" we got in 11.5. I've avoided the updating 12.1 to the latest because I've seen far more complaints than praise for anything later. Again, that's me, but I've come to terms with 12.1, know where it's going to irritate me, and have ways around those irritations. I'm also not inclined to change a running system.
Waveform 9 and 10 were very good, at least for me, but there was a definite gain in quality and features with 11.

If you "upgrade" from 11 to 12, you will have both installed (I have 6-8 (in 32-bit and 64-bit) and 9-12 installed on mine) and so you can use whichever you prefer. That said, if you open and save a project with a version later than the one it was created (or most recently edited in), you can't then open it with the earlier version.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Yes, VERY important reminder! Experiment on copies, not originals, until you decide which versions you like better.

I have 12.5 and i'm happy with it.
When i open, it asks me to update to 12.5.5 or something like that.
But if nothing bad can happen if i don't update i'll leave it like that.
