What happened to our dear friend El°HYM, not very active lately, no new Reaktor ensembles, he mentioned briefly about his mushrooms experiments under loud 80s pop music influence, not sure if that is the reason.vurt wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 8:28 pmare you sexually harassing brokentrance?martiu wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 8:26 pmlovely bottom endBrokenTrance wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 8:06 pm surprised no one mentioned this one yet. Not my coup of tea, but regarding faithful emulation it seems to be top notch. Even the reviewer is raving about it in the video..![]()

I adore the pads I get out this thing.

This crossed my radar - interest piqued. Do you have any audio or video examples to help us fall in love with it tooparma wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 1:56 am Abyss by Dawesome and nobody ever talks about it! It's a pad and "soundscape" monster

Why only one synth?
Depending on what I want to achieve and how much time I want to invest, I’ll grab one of Reaktor (Blocks, predominantly), Massive X, Pigments or any of the Fors synths. They’re all brilliant and almost never sound bad.

Definitely Massive X. The best sounding VST synth I've ever heard. Top notch HD quality of the sound.

None! All the good synths can sound bad or horrible if I want them to do that!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I agree with this. I can still make an attempt and say that korg microkorg tends toward getting sounds I want more than it doesn't. Hardware or software versions.cryophonik wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 3:54 pm Every synth can sound good or bad, it just comes down to whether or not it sounds *right* for my needs.
Uhe Diva is another one with similar rewards.

You, amongst others, are being too literal. The OP gave us enough context to understand what he was asking, yet you chose to ignore it.EnGee wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 8:28 pmNone! All the good synths can sound bad or horrible if I want them to do that!
I have plenty of synths that pretty much always give me something useful. With some, like JP6K, it's because I know their strengths very well, so I always go to them for specific things. Then there are synths like DUNE, Thorn, ANA 2 and Spire that sound good no matter what. I'm sure I could make DUNE sound bad but it would require a lot more effort than making it sound good.
If you want me to choose one over all the others, it would have to be Olga. Olga has never let me down and is surprisingly versatile.
