I just turned Traction on and tried recording some guitar tunes from the setup instructions, but I get nothing but distortion on playback.
I tried moving the latency, increasing cache, adjusting gains----------
you can tell a newbie from the duh?
Anyway my computer:
xp pro w/ p4
2-internal 120g hd
1-external 80g hd
1 ghz ram
software-Mackie Spike w/Traction (what I'm attempting to utilize)
I need help setting this thing up.

you need to work out if its :
a)already distorted before going into Tracktion or
b)if its Tracktion doing the distorting.
If a) then reduce the gain with spike.
If b) then turn down the track and/or master volume.
