I dn't see a 2.1 in mine... which library do you see a 2.1?mabian wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 6:09 pm No, there's the 1.x and 2.0 are two different versions , the new ones are 2.1. You mean 2.0 and 2.1 are both available?
The current version is K7, I am not sure there will be any update for K6 ever to come or any new NI library that will use K6, maybe some third party ones available thru NI might, but then just don't update the NI content..SLiC wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 6:08 pm So K6 users will end up with 2 version of everything and we have to select the one we can use or K6 users should just stop updating using NI Access? KK still loads the libraires without having to do anything (you would have thought would have been the same for K6?)
I would say it is an issue if it makes it the default in K6 (as it did for me (despite the fact that it wont play and you manually have to go and find the old library and delete the new one? Seems like very bad practice to me, just introduces a nag screen to but the new version you have to take a manual action to bypass.zvenx wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 6:07 pm As you were saying?
Apparently there is no issue.
The update seems to keep the original and add a 2.0 for those who want it in K7.6.

See? Nothing to get grumpy over. Everyone can calm down.zvenx wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 6:06 pm And yep.. as I thought.
There is a 2.0 and the original and Kontakt 6 reads the original just find.

Thank you! Good to know.zvenx wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 5:18 pmIf you use Cubendo (Komplete Kontrol does it too), is remove the older version of Kontakt from your hard drive (well the plugin anyway (you can test it if you want, just move it to the desktop out of the vst/vst3/au).. Assuming you have Kontakt 7, it will replace the instances of the older ones.elxsound wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 5:15 pm ......
What saved me when this happened (and I don’t do this consistently) is that I used to keep notes in the host about a specific patch used, so I could replace it with a new version if needed. Even knowing it saved me before, I’m less likely to do that now for purely lazy reasons.

I don't want any new libraires, I bought Noire as a K6 library, I don't have K7- so why did NI update this in K6 and then have a screen saying you have to update to use it? Why load/import libraries that cant run it to K6, why not just exclude them if its a new format that doesn't run in K6?zvenx wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 6:13 pmThe current version is K7, I am not sure there will be any update for K6 ever to come or any new NI library that will use K6, maybe some third party ones available thru NI might, but then just don't update the NI content..SLiC wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 6:08 pm So K6 users will end up with 2 version of everything and we have to select the one we can use or K6 users should just stop updating using NI Access? How exactly would you have preferred them do this?
