All instruments play on all tracks when using rack loaded with kontakt

I am using kontakt plugin loaded with three instruments (NOT DRUMS). when i play each track separately all three instruments play together on all tracks, I have set up the required number of tracks in kontakt, and used th rack function which appears to be wired correctly. How do I set each track to play an individual instrument when using one instance of Kontakt with three instruments loaded into it?

Is the issue that all three instruments play the same notes when you expect them to play different notes, or is the issue that the audio of all three instruments is being mixed together so that all three tracks share the same output?

How have you arranged to split out the different instruments? Normally this is done by assigning a separate MIDI channel to each instrument, and SOMEHOW setting the multi-voice generator (i.e. Kontakt) to play the correct instrument based on MIDI channel input. Note the SENDING of a single midi channel is done at the clip properties level.
