You mean you have an old project with noire on k6 and this is no longer working? This changes again the perspective....
I am dying to hear what they mean..

In the meanwhile Session Guitarist - Electric Sunburst Deluxe also got the update making it usable on Kontakt 7.6 and later...

It's spreading...

Oops - CHANGED Minimum required Kontakt version is 7.6
:dog:
Guess I won't be updating those. I'm thinking about freezing my system right where it is for any N.I. stuff.
I also noticed that while I was looking at the read me, I got a pop up that said Kontakt Player was successfully updated without my asking for it.

But of course that will happen. NI won't freeze their content development at Kontakt 6, but will develop and update their libraries with new features for their nks2/ mk3 platform.

At least now more K6 people have been warned and won't get caught again.

Just so I am clear….
If on K6 and haven’t downloaded all of Komplete 13 yet (storage, usage, learning as I go, etc), then my options seem to be (after reading release notes for each):

1. Only update anything that still says it works on K6.
2. Download any now that I may want and that still work with K6.
3. If n/a for K6, contact support for a K6 version.
4. Optionally (not preferred), use free K7 player if needed.

Did I miss anything else in the past 12 pages?
I saw that old projects shouldn’t be a problem, and I bounced any tracks needed, so don’t expect any issues there.
Some mentioned copying folders as backup (Instruments folder perhaps?). I will use CCC to backup before and after any changes (and Time Machine), so should be good there, right?
Appreciate any feedback! :tu:

Session Guitarist - Picked Acoustic is also added in updates now.

Yes, back up the Instruments folder and you'll be fine.

I just deleted NI updater. Seems an odd thing to do as an Ultimate user but I am on k6 and Mk2 hardware and everything was working fine so I’ll just lock in as I am. I may update to K7 at some point but I won’t update my hardware (have an Osmose, don’t need poly MPE and like the Maschine control on the MK2) so it seems future NI updates won’t be for me.

1) They will get caught, cause NI didn't provide a repeatable and reliable way to stick to the K6-compatible versions of the products while installing from scratch.
2) The quality of the particular products got reduced with the updates for the holders of previous Kontakt, instead of simply staying intact

So the remarks about "reckless users recklessly updating the libraries" are strange, to put it lightly

Firstly the use of quotation marks are for you know, quoting someone.. you are quoting words that no one but you used on this thread. If it is me you are supposedly quoting, the word that I actually used was blindly, that is without reading the release notes.

Secondly indeed someone installing for the first time still using K6, might have the issue (I had asked but no one confirmed whether a fresh reinstall only installs the newest ones (the K7.6 requirement ones, or installs the original versions then offer you the option to Update). However all the concerns from people who have actually been affected on this thread that I have read do not fit that scenario. They are from people who are complaining that it worked on their K6 system, they updated and can no longer use the expansions currently (save for opening them in older projects).

Thirdly, has anyone affected contacted Support and not been helped?

and yes, I still do believe that users have a responsibility to read the release notes of an updated product especially when they aren't using the latest version of software that utilizes that product, before clicking Update.

I don’t get it.
Why don’t you upgrade to the latest version to begin with?!

Because it can't be used in Kontakt 7 maybe?
