Have to agree here. It was cool and funny before people started with personal insults, but I guess it's always like this.

My wife likes the Christmas song they made with Sarah McLachlan--I hate it, the feeling it inspires in me is one of a caffeinated zealot peeling wet cardboard, emotionally, while being mocked by the sun. The chorus, all the voices, annoys like none other, and McLachlan, whom I like sometimes, insists on her Scooby Doo Shaggy vocal cracks that are just way-too-damn-much in this song. It's sappy, cheesy, hokey, and everything that earnestly wearing a Winger shirt means.

Some people weave their identity so strongly with their musical tastes that an insult to the music they like is taken personally. One only has to recognize that it is not a personal attack when I say the B-52s are utter shiite. Even though we state our tastes absolutely--that should never imply that they are universal--just absolute from within our personalities. Or as George Carlin put it: "Have you ever noticed how anyone driving faster than you is a A@#hole and anyone driving slower than you is a moron?"

i seem to remember that my german shepherd dog

i'm almost sure that robert plant's vocals made him leave
but maybe it's the whole band
or maybe it's because i'm like nigel tuffnel
nothing sounds good if it isn't at level 11

but later on, i started to appeciate robert plant as
a melodyist and lyricist
i mean it's not easy to make melodies that fit lyrics
or vice versa
jimmy page had trouble doing that
he only wrote two led zeppelin songs
his strength is in making music, not making lyrics

so yeah, the way people sings can make great songs hateable?
