I personally didn't have to stick to something cheaper, though my finances WERE a bit strained at the time, I have to admit. Still, I could have chosen something else at the time, and right now I certainly could switch hosts if I wanted to.

I chose and continue to choose T. 8) eXT is brilliant, too.

I'm 45 myself, and let me tell you, you young folks have it easy! I remember having to record mono into an old Tascam 4-track while my Oberheim drum machine played over speakers, then switching cables and overlaying the drums without any MIDI time code because MIDI was too new! And the primitive instruments.. guitars, basses, even *gasp* monophonic synthesizers with wires!
:o

Are you sure you're not 145?

Well I'm 41, and I remember the days when I recorded on a 4 track - hey before that I recorded multitrack by using 2 of those binatone taperecorders!!!

But then I did live in a coal shed and you young people don't know how lucky you are and we were so poor that we ate the coals for breakfast...ooooh young people, they don't know they've been born....

I used Cubase for years, but as soon as I tried T I knew that I was going to ditch the old bloated mf.

T1 is great and I just finished writing a musical on it. there werea number of occdasions where I lterally got the giggles cos things were just so quick and easy to do....

Happy Christmas everyone, I'm off to my in-laws...

Simon
...and so it goes (Kurt Vonnegut)

I'm 25 and started with a 2Track Tape Machine.... then switched to a YAMAHA MT8X which I still have lying around (so if anybody wants it) and then changed to MAXI STUDIO ISIS (a nice soundcard with a Logic light version 3)

I actually recorded songs back then.... man the good old times

Mah first sequencer had a latency of 3 days and we ate gravel for us dinners. Kids today they don't know 'ow lucky they are.

I draw the line at power tools for the under 5's.

I love it too. I've been using FL Studio for about a year and love it too. The combination of these two apps is truly awesome. Very powerful and rock solid stable.

I am in heaven... I am running on a lowly ibook 1.2ghz 768mb RAM, and the freeze and render functions are just awesome... I just downloaded and registered the free version today (Talk about a nice Xmas gift  ) and within 1 hour I was up and running with a track. Great program, and a very intuitive interface. Hopefully the V2 will not be too expensive as I feel this program will be my choice sequencer when I am working on my Mac...Keep up the good work!

I'm rilly loving this Tracktion app since the Xmas install. It's so easy to use too.

I was using Adobe Audition previously with Reason via Rewire and having big problems with latency, workarounds and so on.

Now I'm being much more productive, if only I could get to sleep earlier. :dog:

So exciting !

Just downloaded the demo this morning. I've used all kinds of sequencers, Protools, Live 4.0, Logic, Acid, etc. I'm loving the Tracktion workflow and will register when I get paid. Tracktion seems to be an efficient host for my favorite vst, Vanguard.

Lovin' it.
