I still prefer Cioks, despite the price.

Your statement makes me curious why you do.

Is there a feature I didn't take into consideration?
(I mentioned "isolated, filtered & short-circuit-protected outputs", amperage, footprint of the power plug, size, modularity, availability of replacement power plugs, and the fact I never had any problem with any of the 17 units I'm using)

Or do you perhaps put more trust in Cioks' implementation of the isolation?

They're just super nice, I like nice stuff. Expandable, built ridiculously well and super tiny.
I mount the DC7 on the underside of my homemade pedal board which is pretty low to the
ground. It also fits well among other gear with my limited desk space. I wish they made
dedicated Eurorack power as well...

It's the same with pedals, most of mine are boutique, hand crafted and point to point
wired analog, aside from a few digital pedals like the Hologram and Strymon stuff...
Even with Digital, I tend to stick to the Analog Devices DSP chip based designs...

I used to get things on interest free, but there’s less of it around and I’m trying to get my credit card down. It was fine a while ago, but interest hikes have made a big difference the last year or so.

I've been through that phase of can't buy nice stuff for many years, so I definitely sympathise. But mortgage was paid off last year, pay equity rises etc and now it feels like a brand new dawn of playing with new toys. It's really nice after a lifetime to feel how the other half live for a change. Sorry to be a ray of sunshine here...

I absolutely wouldn’t yuk on your yum, I would be doing the same and I bought a heap of gear over the last three years that I have barely stopped to enjoy as I was in the throes of GAS about the next x things on my never ending shopping list so I’m happy to calm down and start learning more about kit I’ve got.

With Moog falling apart (Inmusic just fired almost everyone on the US factory), prices for US-built models will probably skyrocket soon. I'm very, very tempted to add a Sub37 to my collection before that happens.

I’d highly recommend getting a Subsequent 37 over a Sub 37. The Subsequent has a much better keybed and far better oscillator gain staging.

Yes, thank you! I've been reading up on the differences and, yes, that seems to be consensus: subsequent over sub for better keybed and more gain.

In case anyone has that problem with gear that doesn't allow to turn down LED brightness, there are little self-adhesive [defractive] LED dampers .

yes, was a thread on that product I was reading. May still need them for a Grids clone I have which has unfeasibly bright LEDs. Hats off in this regard to Qu Bit who I feel strike the perfect balance with default LED brightness.

Somehow couldn’t walk away from this… it’s very limited intentionally, including being a limited edition, likely because they know it won’t be massively popular.

Still, something seems fun about it. I might kick myself later for getting it after trying to minimize my options.

I think it’s got some nice character and should be fun. I hope.

Up until a little over a week ago, I’d never considered an MPC and always wrote them off as something only “those hip hop guys” would ever use. Wow, was I ever wrong and, damn, this thing is so much fun! I think I’ll be tossing my Maschine in the trash where it belongs.
