I've noticed that if I have a plugin affecting a clip on one track, and then there is a clip on another track that starts exactly where the first clip ends, there is often a volume drop for a couple of seconds, at the start of the second clip, on the second track. No fade-in or volume automation has been applied to the second clip, and none is visually evident. I'm currently having this problem when using Blue Cat Audio's Free Amp, but have noticed it woth other plugins, too. Is this a common problem, and is there a way to avoid it? I'm no tekkie, but I'm wondering if it's a processing issue, as I gather some plugins are pretty CPU intensive. OR... (this just occurred to me), it could be due to using a limiter on my master track. I will check that, now!

UPDATE: I have been unable to reproduce the problem at present, but will add further info here, next time it happens.

Because it's separate tracks I suspect the limiter. You can work into a limiter, I often do, but there are downsides if your levels aren't right to begin with!

Thanks, D. Yes, I suspect the limiter too, now. If it happens again, I will try altering the limiter's attack and release settings, and see if that can remedy the problem. It's true that my levels weren't well-matched, to start with.
