UAD still worth it?

I think they realised their DSP sounds better (though to be fair this was mostly perpetuated by some of their users more than U Audio themselves), and their plugins are so dsp intensive they couldn't be done native BS they sold us for decades finally came to its logical end and they now have to compete toe to toe with other native plugins..
It's a win win for us users I think, as there will be new stuff.

Re: November... Drew, their rep on their unofficial forum, mentioned a Big November Sale, or at least that is how I saw it..
Personally what I am hoping for is FINALLY vst3 versions of their DSP stuff since that is the only reason I can't use Cubendo in Apple Silicon Native Mode and even more importantly, for it to have a proper installer like the native stuff (Drew also hinted this is the way they go).. For those unfamiliar with the current DSP stuff installer, it just installs ALL their Plugins in all the formats on your hard drive.. a total pita...like IK MultiMedia T-Rack S on steroids, since they have way more plugins than IK Multimedia.

Ask their support. They're helping you out when one is missing.

Ouch! Just did the IK install. All I wanted was something like 6 T-Racks modules... which of course means going through that long list to find and delete (for VST3 & AU).

That native insaller (UA Connect) is great even for the instruments. I only installed B3 and Ravel, but its dead simple to install to an external drive. Can't say the same for NI Access until you get past all the dependencies.

I'm definitely looking forward to more Native, Silicone supported and VST3 plugins from UA. I have much of what I want already, but it should be interesting to see what becomes available next.

I feel like the big issue with PA is not knowing how the NI merger, then acquisition plays out.

They of course have a boatload of DSP only stuff they developed to release Native versions for, but the beauty is they are stil developing stuff and imho, they are still getting better at it.
Their 175/176 and their capital mastering compressors are their best compressors to me, and I think compressors are what they do best.

Do you use 175/176 as bus compressor or just track like a 1176? I found it to be awesome on drum bus.

I use it for both individual tracks (especially bass, and vocals) and on busses....though since the mastering capitol compressor came out, I use that as my default Buss compressor.

I now have $50 + $25 Thank You code meaning I can grab UA 175B & 176 for $14

where exactly in my uad account do i have to look to see if a code has emerged ?
(bought 175b/176 @UAD yesterday / i don´t get it ! )

The 176 is supposed to have a slower attack and supposed to be good for vocals and bass.

i use usually slower attack times. And faster release. So, i´m good.

bought the fairchild at P-boutique now, since no code showed up at UAD so far.
Judging from the UAD demos, i think the different oldscool Comps sound so close to each other, i´m not the level of a sound-tech to really take advantage of it.
But i also learnt: you need to have the good tools, to learn to distinguish "sound" !

This is correct. UAD will not thank you for giving your money to someone else.
