I couldn't say if C12 is more efficient CPU-wise than say 11, as this entails for me the diff between Intel processor and ARM. It isn't using CPU hardly at all but it, in itself is a RAM hog.
The problem for me is not the GUI-UX at all but/ EDIT: no, there it is, had to dig for it in "Key Editor/Inspector" which I'd only ever needed for MPE setup.
much worse was this {real!
} bug in C11, didn't get fixed until 12: if you had any tracks set to MIDI channel ALL very nearly every edit anywhere would bring up the yellow
error message, 'you can't use the ramp type of controller lane on tracks set to All'. And it stayed up a while.
So there's been *that syndrome since I began on SX1.
now that I look at it, does it even do "All" channels? I used to do it obv for a multimbral instrument in a single track, these notes/control set to individ. channels inside 'All'. Not as crucial as it used to be for reasons (it's not so much of an 'added tax' to have more instances today).

The addition of Surround to Studio One 6.5 Professional is a good change, though late to the game. For people who need to move towards Atmos - great addition. I don't see why anyone would switch for that, given how late they are in implementing it, relative to Cubase or Pro Tools.
I still think that there is not much to choose between them for music production. It really will come down to personal preference.
If you use a DAW on a single laptop screen, Studio One has better ergonomics than Cubase, though. I just really, really dislike its super muted color scheme and I want a legitimate Lite Mode, as I find the Dark Mode UIs to be tiresome to look at since I very rarely am sitting in a dim room. I'd want a well-designed lite mode, not a "UI Brightness" slider.
The only DAW with a Dark Mode that I could use 24/7 is Pro Tools, and it has its own lacks in other areas (not for mixing, more for production and composition).

"Notifications for Nothing" are annoying. Blocking me in return is a good way to avoid this.

I just found out about something in Cubase, don't know when first introduced. The demonstration used C11.
Track Visibility Configurations. right-click at an empty spot in the project window toolbar or locate it in the setup.
So when you have a project that's gotten too scrolltastic, you can set up configurations of a section of the orchestra and that.
It's easy to set up, fairly obvious from the popup menus. It's a good idea to nest the things in folders "Orch. Drums", "Vox" etc. first rather than have to find them.
Cymbals & Tams: ...
Then, open up lower zone mixer and it's this configuration, which is very nifty
