Yes, I do everything as indicated, but I get a sound fixated on one moment :Jac459 wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 10:05 amWell Falcon is awesome.... but so does bitwig hehe.Anatolio wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 9:51 amThank you, now I understand that I need a Falcon.Jac459 wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 9:23 amHaha, sample 1, 2, 7, 8 are bitwig sampler with time stretching through grain.
Sample 3,4,5,6 are done through Falcon IRCAM high quality time stretching.![]()
Please answer my question about the modulation settings of Segments (I wrote above). I'm looking forward to trying the stretching effects on the voice, but keeping the sample length. It's probably very simple there, but I'm a beginner and couldn't properly bind the modulator to the playoffset.
From the video you sent it seems almost all good.
But just to be sure on how to set the modulation let me detail even more.
After you have placed segment and draw your straight-line (as you did is correct).
Step 1 - make sure the POS is at 0%.
Step 2 - click the little arrow on the segment modulation (as you did).
Step 3 - make sure it is blinking.
Step4 - drag the POS to 100%.
Step 5 - click again the arrow.
Step 6 - make sure it isn't blinking anymore
Step 7 - make sure pos is now at 0%
Step 8 - enjoy.
Bitwig sampler -incorrect operation ?

Thank you, your video is very clear. Actually you need to configure the sampler as frozen BEFORE setting the modulation.
If you look in your video, the parameter changes when you press the snowflake. So you need to press it before assigning the modulation.

Here is an option with freezing at the beginning. The result is the same :Jac459 wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:10 amAnatolio wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 10:44 amYes, I do everything as indicated, but I get a sound fixated on one moment :Jac459 wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 10:05 amWell Falcon is awesome.... but so does bitwig hehe.Anatolio wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 9:51 amThank you, now I understand that I need a Falcon.![]()

Ok, no need for a video actually I just spotted your (my) mistake.Anatolio wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:27 am
Here is an option with freezing at the beginning. The result is the same :
Actually in the segment, you need to choose, just below the graph the left arrow (one-shot mode).
Sorry, I missed that in my initial steps...

I find the solution quite satisfying and opening the door to many other creative possibilities.

Friends ! It turns out that Bitwig has no problems with the length of the sound from the sampler!! You just need to use Cycles and Texture modes instead of Repitch!! And there is no need to twist / twist anything there or use Segments !! I 'm a beginner, but why didn 't you, the experienced ones , immediately poke me into this?
We had a funny conversation!))))
I made a video for you, enjoy the thought that Bitwig is the best Daw

Ok maybe I misunderstood but in my first couple of posts I pointed you to texture as a way to change pitch without changing duration.
After somehow I thought you were trying to have your sample being exactly one bar.
My bad then! And indeed, you are right, cycles does it also !

The cycle and texture modes are just wonky workarounds for mostly experimental sounds which might work on some material but are for sure not good enough to replace "real" timestretching like the samplers of the other DAWs have...Anatolio wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 3:22 pmFriends ! Perhaps because of being a beginner you are not able to hear the differences very well but this is the reason why many haven´t mentioned it as a real replacement for what you were asking for...

Yes, it was mentioned "try texture mode, there is a possibility of manual speed adjustment". It's a little different, isn't it? Or you may have read this forum thread fluently.

The main thing is that now there is complete clarity. In any case, you helped a lot -it was playing with Segments that I realized what I shot in the video.Jac459 wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 3:40 pm Ok maybe I misunderstood but in my first couple of posts I pointed you to texture as a way to change pitch without changing duration.

I'm new to this plan, which I have nothing to compare with. Suggest alternatives to the Bitwig sampler to admire the true sound when playing notes.Trancit wrote: Tue Oct 03, 2023 7:43 am ..

But you are wrong that others advised only based on the sound quality. That's not so. I clearly formulated my task, I was offered to play with time compensation in Segments, and someone even said that there was nothing in my native sampler that I needed and use another one. I'm not accusing anyone. It is quite possible that few people in this branch clearly knew what was on the video. This is the plus of the discussion. At least, I am very pleased that Bitwig clearly works with the length of the sample, it is obvious and it is wrong to demonize the program. As for quality, yes, I can't say anything here due to a little experience. it is necessary to compare.
