Mautodynamiceq : remove resonance dynamically?

Is it possible to use the "remove resonance"feature, but a dynamic way that would automate frequencies along with the track evolution. I mean : not just by calculating an average sound and place static cuts, but write an automation to only apply cuts when and where needed.

...and/or...convert each node from "static" to "dynamic"...at some point in the past someone posted a method to do them all in one shot, currently I just do it manually one node at a time...hth.../s~

If you find the frequencies and you want to follow the pitch, i made a video where i show you how to do it. I hope it can works for your

I obviously already watched you excellent video, and found it very interesting. As a matter of fact, this it what made me wonder if we can push forward. My question is about the "automatic equalizer" feature, that can find and remove the resonances. The thing is, it does it by an average value that is calculated. But what if the track is moving a lot in the time ? Could the plugin automatically find the resonances the same way you show in the video, but with a permanent tracking of those resonances. (Actually, I would agree with a need to first play the entire track once for the plugin to work). The result would be permanent cut on only the actually "played" resonances, and not "all the resonances that might have happened once" even when they don't.Frankie.T wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 4:23 pm If you find the frequencies and you want to follow the pitch, i made a video where i show you how to do it. I don't think there is a plugin that can understand ringing resonances and tame them in any way (static, dynamic or tracking the pitch) if this is what you are asking for (forgive me but today i'm very tired and i need to sleep
)
I don't know if there is any mathematical way to divide musical contents from ringing, so even with some future technology i don't know if this kind of solution will be ever possible.
Right now there are tools like Soothe, DSEQ and MSpectralDynamics that can tame peaks accordingly to your input (usually it's attack, release, ratio and threshold) but this is level based, so i.e. if at 2320hz you have an high peak (but is musical) and at 2330 there is a ringing but the peak is lower, this kind of processing will attenuate the musical peak, without touching the ringing.
Anyway fortunatly we are humans so we are not perfect neither our ears, and we shoudn't need that kind of tools.
That's where an eq like MADEQ can be strategically and statically used to spot and mask/unmask what we need, at least from 400hz and higher.
In the video i worked with lower frequencies for a reason. There is a big difference in sound between 50hz and 70hz, but even if it's always 20hz of difference, you cannot hear any i.e. between 1200 and 1220, so that's another reason you should not really need a so sophisticated tool

Yet that's the purpose of the "remove resonance" feature of MAutoDynamicEq.Frankie.T wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 5:48 pm I don't think there is a plugin that can understand ringing resonances and tame them in any way (static, dynamic or tracking the pitch)
And actually it does it pretty well. Sometime too much, and that's why I'd like it to do it with "movement" so that it only tames when needed, rather than all the time all the frequencies it found when calculating the average by "analyzing target" button.

Have you tried using the bell curve option in the automatic section's settings and then enabling the dynamics for the band?robisme wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 8:44 pmYet that's the purpose of the "remove resonance" feature of MAutoDynamicEq.Frankie.T wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 5:48 pm I don't think there is a plugin that can understand ringing resonances and tame them in any way (static, dynamic or tracking the pitch)

I'm not sure to understand exactly, sorry.sparella wrote: Tue Oct 03, 2023 12:29 am Have you tried using the bell curve option in the automatic section's settings and then enabling the dynamics for the band?

Do you mean something like Surfer eq?robisme wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:05 am Is it possible to use the "remove resonance"feature, but a dynamic way that would automate frequencies along with the track evolution. Yes, something like that. I didn't know this plugin, thanks for the suggestion.sinkmusic wrote: Wed Oct 04, 2023 8:07 pm Do you mean something like Surfer eq?

I see. Not amplitude dynamics, rather pitch tracking. Yes, MADEQ can do that as you saw Frankie's recent video. If the sound changes drastically, I use a new instance. Probably not what you had in mind though...

I'm afraid not, but you can follow the pitch using modulators if that's the problem, and you can exploit the dynamic behaviour too for more natural results.
