Hey guys!
I'm a big fan of LA-2A style compressors. I love Analog Obsession LALA, also like IK Multmeida's White 2A, and generally slow tube compressors.
But sadly I never found that "spark" with MA2A, the Emulation within MTurboComp. Any thoughts on why this might be? Is anyone using the MA2A?
I have the theory that maybe the MA2A models the LA2A set to "limiter" and I think I might prefer the "compressor" setting. On both the Analog Obsession and IK Plugins there's this toggle to switch between these. In the MTurboComp there is no such switch.

There isn't just a switch, but if you go in the advanced tab, you can do whatever you want.
Isn't easy, it require time to understand all of it, but if you are willing to do that, it's rewarding.
I wasn't a fan of MTC before i started to mess up in that section, now MTC is mostly the only compressor i use

I usually put it on a parallel track. It does the dirty fast comp thing well enough for my needs.
EDIT: Sorry I was thinking about the 76 style one. But yeah same for the 2a. I have some TDR dynamics installed now but for awhile I was just using MTC. Specifically a 2a and 76 both in parallel for lead vocals. Again, good enough for that but I haven't done any shootouts. For reference the other one I liked was a free one from Brainworx but I think MTA is different.
