It's nice to see time stretching coming into MSF, but I wanted to share that it doesn't sound nearly as clean as other plugins out on the market. Mulab 9 (which is also a plugin and super inexpensive) and Falcon (which I consider a major competitor to MSF at a similar price point) have what is in my opinion, much cleaner sounding stretch modes which have hybrid of granular and spectral processing.

Is this something actively being worked on? I hope so as MSF getting time stretching on par with those two would make MSF a SERIOUS hybrid synth/rompler and an all-in-one tool like no other

Note here - you are NOT testing it on a sample it's intended for - it's not tonal at all, right? ;) The time stretching algorithm here is designed for tonal sounds - violins, saxophones, hell even synthetic, but tonal... You are trying a percussive sound, so... The algorithm is not really a "general purpose" thing, but for these sounds, it actually seems to sound unbelievable.

will there also be a "general purpose" stretching algorithm (which not really exist of course, spectral comes closest, i guess)?

the samples i use, samples made by me, they aren't that tonal i guess, if you mean, as you said in another thread; monophonic and pitched, that is tonal, i guess; tonal=pitched..

with this stretching algotithm it is more sound design that i do, and me like that. so no problems there.

but still, also the option for other sounds...

Yes, that's certainly planned ;). You know, this sampler is assumed for tonal stuff mainly. For percussion there are the MDrummer modules.
