No I don't blame Tal but we really don't know for sure what's causing the delay in delivering licenses now.

I don't really have any ill will towards Audio Deluxe at this point either but the longer this draws on without a resolution the worse it looks for them.

I was not able to get in before the Tal licenses were sold out so I'm not losing anything but I want to buy TDR Nova GE during the sale and to be honest I don't feel real comfortable pulling the trigger right now even though I've done business with Audio Deluxe before without incident.

Same here, I would have probably bought J-8 not because I need it but because I'm such a sucker for a bargain... :hihi:

I actually lost some respect for TAL when he quietly bumped the price of his existing synths during the cost of living crisis. It's his work, so he can do what he wants, but it rubbed me the wrong way doing it to the back catalog rather than just new products going further. Whether the fallout from this affects my opinion on TAL further, we'll see.

Has anyone contacted Audio Deluxe yet or are you just waiting for the 24h to pass?
Waiting, but I'll never do business with them again if they reneg on the sale
I purchased from them in the past, and will do again in the future if they'll refund.
They have a trillion plugins in store and on sale, mistakes can happen after all.

If they don't refund (which would be absurd for an established business like theirs), it sets a very bad precedent and of course they can't be trusted in the future.

If they turned around on the sale last night I might have accepted it, but now? they've been sat on the funds for a day and refusing to honor the sale now is too late, IMO.

And no, this isn't the first time I've bought from them either, and last time it took them ages to deliver the serials too.

I haven’t…
I did get the j8 license and redeemed at TAL but that was just a few minutes after I paid for it yesterday.

Already owned Tal Drum, Tal Mod, Tal Sampler, Tal Bassline and Tal U-No-LX.

A similar thing happened when ADSR sold Izotope's Nectar last year at some ridiculously low price.

Everything had gone through fine. Transaction completed on Paypal and licenses delivered and redeemed at Izotope.

I then got a mail from ADSR stating there had been a pricing error on their part and offered me a refund plus a copy of their Drum Machine plus some packs to rescind my license. (I think it may have been on an iLok).

As far as I can gather once a transaction is complete (ie. Payment received) the seller is obliged to honour the transaction as it is made in good faith. The payment acts as the buyer upholding their side of the deal.

The only exception usually is if it can be argued that the consumer could reasonably assume that this was a genuine pricing error (e.g. A Ferarri for 100 dollars  ).

As evidenced from this thread it is reasonable to assume that the pricing was just a deep sale so the argument that it was a legitimate pricing error that consumers should have assumed won't wash.

I don't think anyone could be faulted for saying Audio Deluxe "should have seen this coming". You reduce the price of anything by 87% and there is going to be a stampede, especially if it's from a popular developer like TAL.

It's 2023 and there are vendors who deliver product and serial number instantly so.......

I mean, it's fairly obvious to me (21 hours later and no licenses, no emails, no clue) they're not going to honour the purchase and are only going to refund or not at all. And it looks bad for them deleting the TAL products page even though the sale supposedly ends the 17th.

Im actually operating under the assumption that it was a pricing error on the part of Audiodeluxe.

That happens quite a bit. Usually just a simple clerical error.

My brother snagged the entire Sugarbytes collection from Sweetwater for about 40 dollars.

They had priced the bundle as a single plugin.

The bundle was about 480 bucks.

Well they can't just keep the money!

I think there in a bind.

As stated above from the perspective of the buyer you have done nothing wrong. You bought something from a reseller in good faith.

That transaction is legally binding.

They've removed the products completely from the store.

This has a f**k up written all over it.

They will still have to honour those sales that they did make though.

I think Audiodeluxe will resolve it in one way or another. I've been a customer there for six years, 100% positive experiences, and they will not destroy this kind of reputation they've built with many customers.

A bit of insight from a thread on Reddit:

"Just a bit of an distributor insight (we distribute TAL to our reseller network), Patrick didn't give us a heads up about this deal so we were sorely understocked with digital codes. So our resellers have people buying this but are unable to fulfil them because they themselves don't have enough digital codes.

Since Patrick is is another timezone, we've been trying to contact him but he's a bit elusive since he only answers via email and doesn't list his phone.

Eventually the whole thing will be resolved and everyone will get their digital codes but its left a bitter taste in a few resellers and they've decided to remove TAL from their store entirely to avoid messes like this again."

its german time zone and american timezone so it will take a bit longer
