That happens quite a bit. Usually just a simple clerical error.
Businesses can fail on "simple clerical errors".

But they have honored and delivered some of the licenses so it's not exactly an error. It was part of the "pay only 13% bargains" so if it's an error then someone forgot their calculator that day.

I think they just seriously miscalculated the interest these deals would generate and that's on them. Being a well established vendor should put you in the position to have seen this coming.

As others have mentioned they may just be waiting for TAL to deliver more licenses and if that's the case it's not on Audio Deluxe but on TAL. Again it's 2023, we're not sending codes by snail mail.

So I think it's way too early to vilify either AD or TAl at this point. I don't think it's a matter of being evil just not thinking things through first.

Yeah Brandini's probably applies here.

It was maybe misconstrued as a 13% discount as opposed to a "pay only 13%" discount somewhere.

Apparently, there's a white delivery van from Germany to America, should be there in a few days once it's on board a flight, with the man holding the licenses in his pocket.

No, there were several products that were clearly marked as "pay only 13%". I see they've since removed that tag on any of the products.

Would a 13% discount even raise an eyebrow these days let alone celebrate a 13th anniversary in business? If I got an email from any vendor that said 13% discount I probably wouldn't even bother to open it these days.

If someone said "give them a 13% discount" and someone else in the company thought "only make them pay 13%" then communication is seriously borked at Audio Deluxe and someone should be clearing out their desk and updating their resume today.

I don't even get out of bed for anything less than 20% discount. Wait, that sounds bad...

Or, maybe they thought it through, are happy with the results, and you just missed out. Do you suffer from narcissism? If so, it's tough not to think everything is somehow related to you. In this case, it is not. It was a limited sale, or a mistake. You and many others didn't get the opportunity. Time to think about closing the thread window and moving on.

Did you miss the part where some people succesfully placed orders that have yet to be fulfilled?

I didn't miss it because I am one of those people. Waiting patiently. If they re-neg on it because of an error, oh well, they made a mistke. Life goes on.

If this wasn't a pricing mistake i'd be very surprised. Giving away your newest products for peanuts doesn't sound like a clever long term strategy if you ask me. Therefore refunding seems the lesser evil in this case.

Btw, some people here look really selfish and greedy, not a nice view.

Jesus Christ Nancy calm down. Do you always get so easily triggered?

Even as late as this morning it said "sale ends in 11 days" for the TAL products before they were withdrawn so it was never intended to be that "limited".

I don't care that I missed out but I do care that others have paid for products they have yet to receive. Caring for others is the antithesis of narcissism cupcake.

Again in case you failed to comprehend the first time: I think it's way too early to vilify either AD or TAL at this point.

Again I don't think this is a matter of being evil, just not handling this episode well. If that triggers you then go get your support kitten and go to your safe space.......

Generally, these stores can sell at whatever they price they want. If they're willing to take a loss on a product to get customers in the proverbial door, they can. Some companies try to forbid that type of thing with minimum purchase prices, but that's generally frowned upon by regulators, who view that as anti-competitive behavior. So if AudioDeluxe wants to buy licenses from resellers for let's say $35 (with the expectation the MSRP will be $60) then turn around and sell them for $11, they certainly should be allowed to. It's not like Patrick gets any less than if Audio Deluxe sold at full price. It should be AD taking the loss.

Hopefully they can honor the licenses sold (and even get more - would love to pick up TAL Drum at that price). Worst case, they may have to issue refunds and an apology.

Please give us a list. I want to know about all of them.

I will volunteer myself. I’m absolutely greedy and definitely selfish. Plus a total moron :D
