Whoever it is, it's clear they have a couple of serious issues, and engaging doesn't seem to help them.

I used to like his posts a lot. Too bad it’s gotten to this.

Hey, I just joined KVR after reading the "Ugliest Synths" thread which I thought was very funny (both as a concept and for the hilariously garish images of "synths" like the E-mu "Mo Phatt"). After staring at a JD-800 for the better part of a decade as my master keyboard controller and often used synth, I suddenly felt compelled to "defend its honor" in light of its inclusion on the "Ugliest" list. LOL. But gosh, I sure hope you aren't referring to me in the posts above.
It's odd. I've popped in and out of KVR over the years as a lurker and have seen "BANNED" members throughout various threads. The thing is, I can never understand why they were banned. All of their posts seem innocuous to me. I can only surmise that KVR moderators have totally overreacted in response to whiny complaints from irrationally aggrieved members.
Or maybe there is something more sinister at work here. Perhaps these banned individuals had the audacity to make "disparaging" remarks about products from companies who advertise on KVR. Of course, this is pure conjecture on my part. I'd like to believe that people and organizations aren't completely craven and utterly beholden to the almighty dollar (or Euro, Pound, etc.).
Just out of morbid curiosity, I read some of the posts by the banned members mentioned in this thread. Their only "sin" as far as I can tell is being more intelligent and articulate than the average KVR member. Banning them is thus probably inevitable given the world in which we live. But it is more than a little sad, IMO.
Regarding speculation as to whether these individuals own the synths they claim to own, that just seems like sour grapes to me, if I may be so frank. I would imagine anyone making $250,000 a year can afford whatever hardware synths, and however many, they want. I suppose that sticks in the craw of some of our more jealous and resentful members.
Regardless, carry on gents. Got other things to do.

It only seems like that to someone who’s ignorant and easily fooled by false bravado. To people who actually know what they’re talking about, they just seem like sad little trolls who pretend they have all the answers and impeccable tastes.House of Wolves wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2023 4:38 amJust out of morbid curiosity, I read some of the posts by the banned members mentioned in this thread. All the guys who got banned were actually the same freak over and over. Totally doolally it seems.
Obviously , that applies to him, not you, as you are a different person.

Geez buddy, that seems more than a little harsh and inhospitable to a new member. I'll leave the deep psychoanalysis to professionals. But from my armchair perspective, I'm sensing a lot of sublimated rage.zerocrossing wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2023 5:48 am It only seems like that to someone who’s ignorant and easily fooled by false bravado. Of course, I can't possibly know or understand what's going on in your mind. Maybe you're just having a bad day. But anyone who has posted over 14,000 times on KVR is likely to be deeply dysfunctional and probably can't even hold a job.
Again, this is pure speculation on my part. But if I were to guess, I'd say your wife earns all the money in the family while wearing the pants and you're just the stay at home mom, er, dad. She then buys you a few toys (synthesizers and plugins) and pats you on the head for being such a good houseboy.
Haha. I'm only kidding, bro. I'm just trying to lighten the mood with a bit of good natured tomfoolery.

FYI, I’ve worked almost non-stop since I was 16, some of that as a music professional, most as a graphic designer, though I did take a short break when my daughter was born. Her entry into the world coincided with the demise of a company I was working for and my wife’s salary was indeed enough for us to live on for a time. To anyone who thinks that being a stay home care giver for a child is not a job, you’re completely wrong on every count. It’s probably the most difficult job I ever had. I was also out of work at the start of the pandemic, but then I became a care giver and home school teacher. I’ve been back to regular work for an almost 2 years now, as a music composer and sound effect artist for games. It’s a small shop, so I also do a bit of everything, including 3d modeling, concept art and UI design and even some branding-marketing work. That’s the best thing about working for a small company. You get to bounce around a bit and not have to do the same type of work, day-in, day-out.House of Wolves wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:07 amBut anyone who has posted over 14,000 times on KVR is likely to be deeply dysfunctional and probably can't even hold a job.
