Which I understand. Have to keep that work/ life balance..

Though i still think it was a disastrous wound on TAL, I am sure he will honour those that have already been sold.

Surely this wasn’t anything to do with TAL as a company, I’m presuming this was a deal arranged by TAL’s distributor, with Audiodeluxe.

"Just a bit of an distributor insight (we distribute TAL to our reseller network), Patrick didn't give us a heads up about this deal so we were sorely understocked with digital codes. So our resellers have people buying this but are unable to fulfil them because they themselves don't have enough digital codes.

Since Patrick is is another timezone, we've been trying to contact him but he's a bit elusive since he only answers via email and doesn't list his phone.

Eventually the whole thing will be resolved and everyone will get their digital codes but its left a bitter taste in a few resellers and they've decided to remove TAL from their store entirely to avoid messes like this again."

Nope, i'm still waiting for a J-8 license

I guess TAL has a strict no working in weekends policy.

Yes, three days and no licenses. Of course it's all my fault as a customer.

Sorry, but, selling keys you don't have is the weird thing here. It's also quite bold to call Patrick "elusive", because they allegedly can't reach him via phone. I'm sure this is not the first time they had to make contact, so, this is really just shifting the blame on others. I wouldn't sell goods I don't have, or that I can't deliver.

What also confuses me: I thought this was an Audio Deluxe exclusive deal? Why are other resellers mentioned now? And, where are those resellers which removed TAL from their store entirely? I only see that with Audio Deluxe.

Plugin Boutique still has them: https://www.pluginboutique.com/manufacturers/52 JRRShop still has them: https://www.jrrshop.com/computer-softwa ... cturer=477

Still waiting for the Drum key although they have sent me an email apologising for the delay and assured me I will get it

sorry, haven't been following this thread closely, but this seems more likely that some sellers just decided themself to do some sales without actually asking the developer first.
who knows, maybe their contracts have loopholes that might force TAL to give out licenses for bargain bin prices that never had been negotiated.
at least i would be reluctant to give out licenses for sales much lower than promised, unless some oversight in the contract would actually force me to
The GAS is always greener on the other side!

At the moment, my problem is with AudioDeluxe selling stuff without actually having the licenses. Mistake or not, they have not admitted making a mistake, haven't offered a refund, and are now having communication problems with TAL. Doesn't look good on AudioDeluxe and I have no problem with TAL. Of course, there are always two sides of the story.

I understand it like that:

- TAL made a deal with Audiodeluxe to sell it for 8/11$
- TAL didn't inform distributor of the deal (meaning they didn't know there was a big sale coming which required possibly 10k+ serials)
- distributor has only a limited amount of serials in stock. (TAL needs to generate new ones when they run out, this is not an automated process)
- other resellers get the serials from the same stock
- AD requested all serials from that stock, meaning all other reseller can't get new serials until TAL generates new ones and sends these to the distributor

No one gets pissed at the dollar store when they run out of stock. But the dollar stock doesn’t sell something it doesn’t have in stock.

My *personal* experience with Patrick is that he has been incredibly responsive. More so than any other developer. His plugins are cheap for what you get, and I’m sad to see that he went the route of race-to-the-bottom sales. I’ve always said that the sale price is the real price, and now his plugins (at least these two) have been devalued.

I can't see how, with a single shop selling a handful of licenses for cheap, which is not even sure to be coordinated with Patrick at all, but more likely a try to get attention for their offerings.

I also wonder what a "real" price is supposed to be. Prices are highly dynamic, and mainly depend on what the customer is content to pay. Especially in software you see that. Software can cost as little as nothing at all, or thousands of Euros. It all depends on the market, and, of course, if you want to make a business out of what you do at all.

Nothing becomes "devalued" by sales though. Unless you have discounts every day, which aren't discounts anymore.

OMG, the whole reason of my mere existence is "because of the chicks", am I very wrong ????
