Hi all,

Has anyone managed to install V-station or Bass-station on a Windows 11 machine lately? Like after they removed the free versions from their website?

I use FL Studio 21, and the first time I loaded the plugin, I got to that activation window. Trying to load the license file, FL Studio crashed, and after that, it keeps crashing as soon as I try to load the plugin (even after reinstalling the plugin and FL).

I still use it quite a bit. It's a handy little k station plugin. Sounds a bit rough but in a fun way for effects and little blips and plucks.

I'm on Win11 now, recently upgraded from Win10.
Sure i installed both V-Station and Bass-Station ages ago while i was on Win10 and when i open V-Station now in Cubase 12 it works fine.
Tried opening Bass-Station in Cubase 12 and Bass-Station shows the activation box, so i clicked activate then clicked on the license box (underneath activation box) and it downloads a file called cape-unlock-key.fnlf
Now seeing as i already had a paid-for license since 2013 i searched and selected that from my files as the license and got a response saying it was invalid. So tried again and selected the cape-unlock-key file and it worked and now Bass-Station appears to work fine.

Not completely sure if I tried to load my license file from 2017 or not, but I also got the cape-unlock file downloaded. However, after trying to install the license, it just keeps on crashing.

I’ve reinstalled FL Studio and the plugin many times, but I do not get the activation box back. I tested VSTHosts like Savihost and Cantabile, but they also crash.

Red & Scarlett suite, which has a similar activation method, worked great.

Not lately but I definitely have it working on Windwos 11. I will be reinstalling everything on a machine I just got back, after getting a new mainboard, so I'll make sure to let you know.

Ugh, it doesn't look like it's downloadable from Novations site anymore. I had an X-Station years ago, had a few cool quirks in the filters etc.

Thanks, I'm on mac and oddly enough they screwed up the instal location, you can find it here on their site as an arpeggiator plugin? It only works in Bitwig as a VSTi though, but it's there.

Yeah, I'd love an AU version, if one is available. I had a K-Station 20 years ago and it was a fun little beast and a great intro into the more comprehensive Virus world!

Does a free plugin need authorization?

Well, they could have transplanted the authorization from the plugins before they set them freeware. But, that would have cost them time and money, for discontinued plugins, so, I understand why they didn't do it.

Shame that they removed it entirely from their site now though, and shame that shady sites offer it for download now, while they aren't supposed to offer it. Make sure you scan those downloads, and sent them to www.virustotal.com. As far as I'm concerned, when sites care so little about company's property, I wouldn't be surprised when they host malware as well.

Holy crap the "legal" site is a mess though, expired certificates, redirect pop ups, and broken search engine. It's the same site I posted that google had the V-Station as a an arp.
