Tal J-8

What an ugly episode. Either AD wrote the proposal poorly or TAL read it incorrectly but as I've said before I don't place malintent on either party.
And what is up with the mysterious "distributor"? Who needs a distributor? "Hey Patrick I need some more licenses". "Ok email on the way". It's not like the licenses are physical products that require shipping. Overcomplicating things just adds more fail layers and well, we see the results.
At any rate I don't hold any ill will towards either company. I just feel sorry for them for handling this in such an unprofessional and amateurish manner but I'll do business with both in the future if needed.

Vilifying the consumer in this instance is very misguided in my opinion. A vendor offered a killer price on great products so naturally people jumped on the deal. I was one of those who jumped too late but I would have purchased both without any feeling of guilt whatsoever.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:28 pm Neither TAL Drum or J-8 is expensive. Both are worth it at full price. I think there's usually a 20% off sale around the holidays. If that's still too rich for your blood, then these products just aren't for you.
I had long planned on purchasing Tal Drums at some point and still do but it's more of a want than a need so I'll wait to see what Black Friday brings. Again not one tinge of guilt for wanting a better deal and yes $60 is already a fair price.
But it's not only businesses who are struggling financially at this time. Consumers are also victims of inflation caused in large part by the greed of those very businesses (not referring to Tal specifically just in general).
So don't ridicule consumers for wanting to save money in the current global economy. They are not the villains in this instance.

Have you worked with any big corporate? You would be surprised how unprofessional and amateurish are many many many companies... Simply because it is mostly run by humans and humans can be sometimes very very good and sometimes do stupid mistakes. That's life...Teksonik wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 2:15 pm What an ugly episode. At least now we are sure that the fantastic guys (or girls) from TAL are also sometimes a bit human and read too fast an email...
No big deal...

I like your mindset that we can have different opinions and discuss politely around a forum.egbert101 wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:30 pmJac459 wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:19 pm It is a refreshing feel compared to the whining drama-queen tone of this thread..

Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:28 pmAlso, the attitude of the folks impatiently waiting for licenses that were clearly never coming and just generally being jerks in this thread...who would want some of them as customers anyway? Life is too short.I don't believe this is true for the majority participating in this thread. The thread has been very light hearted and we've all vented in mostly healthy ways over the last few days. You really should go see how bad it is in other forums. But you're both entitled to your opinions.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:28 pmBut there's absolutely no need for any vitriol or public foot stamping.
So allow me to politely disagree. Tap J-8 thread has been the top thread of KVR since this week-end and every time, stupidly, like a clickbait victim, I click on it thinking there will be actual news.
Actually no. It is again and again another (or the same) person complaining and repeating the exact same thing than the previous one. And then there was a lady and a guy fighting over I don't even remember what...

WTF !
Am i pissed by -big- companies who want to milk me ?
Can i forgive a small biz for a small mistake, who runs their biz otherwise in a very sober form ?
You folks want to lynch TAL for a small -absolutely understandable- mistake ?
you want to see TAL vanish ?
i for my one finally ended up using my TAL-Drum demo when waiting.......
i had a good start with it. I like it. And will purchase it now @TAL for full price.
True, i´d not have bought the J-8 otherwise. Now, i even like it.
averaging the two sums,....i will feel fine.
WE NEED THESE SMALL GUYS ! .......the good ones
ymmv

People make mistakes it happens everywhere surely everyone should understand what happened here. TAL can’t afford to give people these products at 87% off. Would you rather have the product now for cheap and see them go out of business?
I already had J-8 which I love and the support and updates have been great. Wouldn’t have minded getting TAL drum this cheap since I can’t bring myself to buy it full price because I already have Battery 4.

So am i. But i don't have a lot amount of money to spend on audio software so that might be why i am not into those insanely discounted plugins and stuff.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 1:28 pm TAL offers great prices to begin with. I, for one, am glad he's not getting into the 90% off game.

Time for some crisis management after missing the chance to have somewhat larger client base and more new loyal customers. I wouldn’t want to be on TAL’s place at this moment.
AudioDeluxe had their anniversary sale ruined, but in the long run TAL lost one of its resellers which will eventually result in less profit. If audio software developers were so self-sufficient they wouldn’t have relied on any resellers to begin with. Initial loss by such sale would have resulted in more sales on the long run. Probably many new customers could have liked Patrick’s instruments and could have gotten some of his other plugins later. Who knows, maybe TAL Software was already on the edge and such a sale could have resulted in bankruptcy, just speculating in zeroes and ones, you know what I mean

I've had a great couple of days in this thread. Can't you just see it from a positive side?
Most people were just posting funny things and some lost their minds.
Average KVR discussion, right?
Maybe you're on the wrong forum

Majority of people bitching in this thread didn’t want to support TAL in the first place, all they want is another plugin for cheap and probably forget about it when another deal comes around the corner .
Tal plug’s are awesome and cost as a much as a good night out , don.t pretend you.re living in a third world country because you’re not .
F..k them , support Patrick ..and pay full price

I bought a Drum license on that sale. I didnt contact AD about not getting the license yet. I still haven't received it or an email letting me know the status/refund. In my AD account it shows, for the license status, "Plugivery". I wonder what they are up to...

I love it when flea market merchants (read: experienced sellers of i.e. baby clothing and used stuff of all kinds) talk about business.
Especially global business. One can't have enough experts providing valuable insights.
