A fixed window size so it can display more than 2 results
Display of what host the patch is from, and the option for results to be ordered by host
Sad state of Native Instruments

Komplete Kontrol 3.0 from what I have seen online looks very much like the Kontakt start screen interface (mases sense) but there is some talk of preset layering?

That's already better than before.
Also from that same thread:
“Komplete Kontrol 3 is coming in the next few weeks, and has a whole bunch of improvements, including support for HiDPI and host plug-in resizing. That said, Komplete Kontrol itself does not resize, other than to fit the host plug-ins size”
I don't know If I should be sad or happy.

It's Kontakt 7's browser, full screen blatted over the instrument presumably. It looks like more than 2 patches will be visible in the search results, so that's something. Also looks possible to limit results to specific instruments and maybe hosts, so pretty sure this will be a step in the right direction. But we don't know what the side-browser looks like yet (if it still has one).
I'd be interested in using KK3 purely as a browser for Reaktor synths, since it looks like Reaktor itself will never get a proper browser. You'd think it wouldn't be impossible to put a tag browser in Reaktor directly, but you'd think a lot of things with NI.

Tried Komplete Kontrol App V3. It's better than the previous version but it still isn't that great, scaling is all over the place and it still doesn't look like it belongs to 2023. It's definitely more usable but I think I expected more.

Yeah I have all my favourite ensembles browsable in KK - had to edit most of them to make them work with the controller but it can be done and I have posted some in the ULnoiseboyuk wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 9:43 pm It's Kontakt 7's browser, full screen blatted over the instrument presumably. Don't quite agree there, In fact I think KK3 is the single worst product NI have ever released. It's functionally useless here, it hangs on a plugin scan and can't load any plugins afterwards. I can play with the browser, however, and see just how crippled it is.Fornicras wrote: Fri Oct 13, 2023 5:43 am Tried Komplete Kontrol App V3. In 1.x and 2.x you could use a registry hack to resize that worked okay, so you could see more than 2 results. That hack no longer works, and it's been replaced by Kontakt 7's browser which they actively crippled to remove the ability to resize.
The mind boggles.
They don't need to do too much to make it useable, but after 10-some years I'm not holding my breath. They need to:
1. Fix plugin scanning so it can step over any problem plugins.
2. Make the browser window resizeable.
3. Add Reaktor as a tag host, so you can search all the Reaktor synths in a single hit, making up for the lack of a browser in Reaktor itself.
There's probably more than needs doing but since it doesn't work here that's as far as I've got.
