But also in business - own your mistakes. He obviously didn’t.

as has been said before a couple of times, it is common practice to stop transactions when an error has occured, it usually is even in their sales terms.
good luck when you try to get a MacBook Pro from Amazon that they accidentally put on sale for $299 instead of $2999
Totally the spin doctor behavior I was writing about.

no one is spinning anything around, just stating facts. unless you can show us some terms of some sellers that state that they will always honor every interaction, even if they made mistakes that would harm them?

and did you get your money back, or not? and no, losses due to changes in currency exchange do not count, as the transactions have been made in one specific currency.
when you do a sale in Euros, it's not in your responsibility how the Yen, or Krone is relating to that transaction either.
you could also have "won" if your currency was faring better at the time of compensation

The fact is - mistake wasn't honored, sale or not.
equisonus wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 8:45 am To the spin doctors: good luck changing the minds of people who didn’t receive the TAL plugins they rightfully purchased during this sale.
Good luck honoring a sale next time when you accidentally buy a plugin for $8,000 instad of $8.000
Weapons of choice (subject to change):
Godin Redline, Kuassa, Fuse Audio, Audiority, Roland A-500pro, Dune, Dagger, TAL, Reaper for Rock & Synthwave pleasures; Viper and FL Studio for guilty EDM pleasures

Spinning such tales or not, at the end of the day TAL lost a hundred or so potential customers and a distributor network and also lost face. But of course it’s his business - his decision.

he would of course honor that contract and swallow up that price, as he isn't one of all these spin doctors

Why do you think you have a right to something others paid much more for? In the greater scheme of things there are much more aspects to this than just you and a handful of others here being upset because you couldn't profit on peoples mistakes.

Not necessarily a "right" on it's own, but nowadays paying full price for a plugin is more like an idiot's tax.

only for things that are constantly on sale

What’s not constantly on sale these days. Also 75% discounts for audio software are the new normal. Just see UAD…

there's actually a lot that's not constantly on sale, some actually don't budge on their prices, except for maybe a one time 20% off when the plugin has just been released, or in it's pre release form.
a few of them are even in your sig.

one could argue with so much awesome stuff that can be had for absolutely free, that everything more than $0.0000 are idiot's taxes, but people love when they are finding "no brainer".... ahem... "discounts", because this month, we can once again have a ""$300 emulation of $5000 hardware" for $29, just like last month.

plugins are worth as much, as they are worth it to you, so a $200 compressor could be your priceless possession, or a $0.000 could do

if you go by interviews, many of the best paid mixing and mastering engineers are stilll using ancient stuff from 2000-2005 as their go tos, so most of the sales today are mainly there to boost and satisfy consumerism

Not all companies (like TAL) are in that silly mega discount game. If you look at their regular prices it's pretty clear. Stop pretending otherwise.
