They are a bunch of CON ARTISTS, who had a plan all a long to lock us in with FX plugins and then want us to shell out cash every month for their subscription synth!!!
Even that Jake guy said it was ALWAYS their plan to catch us with the SUBSCRIPTION synth!!!
They are DEVIOUS when they don't inform YouTube reviewers that it is ONLY SUBSCRIPTION!!!
They are DEVIOUS when in the small print, they do NOT allow resales of their plugins!!
Minimal Audio Current…subscription

What happens when I subscribe on a yearly basis and the company goes bust soon afterwards?

I stand by my earlier 'devious' comment.

Does minimal allow license transfers for their perpetual products? Asking for a friend.

Nope. They've now irreparably damaged their company and this product by: not understanding the market, not understanding the potential customer, ignoring the low appetite for subscription anything and not understanding that people don't buy into promises. This company now set to #ignore for me. #SayNoToSubscriptions #fail #nothingtoseehere #goodriddance

Didn't take long for the Chinese Whispers to take effect! He said that someone had wished he / his company will fail, and he goes starving as a result. No threats were made in regards to taking his life.Functional wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 9:33 am
It's sad that you're getting death threats and so on - I don't support any of that.

One further point to make. I don't really care about what happens to Minimal Audio in the future, if they go full-on sub or not. Way too many other products on the market. It's a consumers play ground!
But threads like this are absolute gold. Because it sends a signal to any other devs who are thinking about going the sub-only route.
Who remembers when PA tried to do something similar? And Gear Space went beserk. They quickly backpedaled!
Incidentally... It looks like Minimal are getting a roasting there too! Tee-Hee!

I loved Minimal audio products even though I thought it was weird with their no license transfer policy. I still believed in the company and bought their entire FX plugins to date. However.... after having alot of hype and excitement for a new synth and being slapped with "Subscriptions only" I feel like I made a mistake investing and believing into this company.
Products are nice, but the values and disconnection with their consumers just isn't for me. Id rather support other companies. I doubt I'll buy another Minimal Audio product again.
On the side note, Good job on the synth, looks amazing. Such a shame tho...

Hope they will not become insolvent.
Would be bad for existing users of their effects.

I too wish Current was not subscription only.. That is a dealbreaker for me.. But guess what, there are tons of other great synths out there.
Some people are behaving like somehow Minimal Audio has ruined their lives.

I am not going to be enslaved month after month paying for a plugin. And receiving sounds that surely most of them don't even interest me.

If there is something that can mobilize all musicians on the Internet in a short time, it is an attempt to sell something by subscription
It doesn't matter how economically justified it is. This will only work in three cases:
1. The tool is used in work or the company pays for it
2. This is a service for the tool, but the tool itself is owned by
3. Rent-to-Own
I, personally, would pay small amount (about price comparable with 2 cups of coffee/month) for convenient stuff like constantly updated amount of samples for granular engine. I mean, tools has to be owned, everything else can be a service. If you can't justify the price of service itself it's a bad service.
