Wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
I can no longer seem to select an input other than the "virtual" input. Neither of my keyboards (Akai and Alesis) show up when I scan for new devices. This used to be fine until recently. The keyboards do light up so there is power getting through. I'm suspecting my multi adaptor interface between the keyboard and the notebook (accepts USB C and USB) so the Mac (USB C only - Doh!) can talk to the keyboard. This multi adapter has worked fine for a couple of years and I think it still does as I still use it to output HDMI. Maybe only the USB side is affected?
Another element I've noticed is that recording a track will no longer save. As soon as I hit "stop recording", the track I've just written (via virtual instrument) disappears again. Not sure its related but I mention it for completeness.
I've reinstalled Waveform but no joy.
I'm in Waveform 12.5.11 Free on a Mac running Ventura 13.5.2
Any ideas gratefully appreciated

No expert here, but this sounds like a USB issue. Have you tried (a) restarting the adapter interface and (b) wiring directly into your Mac as a test?

I'm leaning the same way. Yes, I've restarted the Mac (the interface is thus powered off) but I can't wire it in directly as I need an interface. Mac cleverly decided to use only USB C slots..... Helpful as ever! Thanks for the input anyway.

Sorry, no--I meant restart the USB interface: physically unplug it, let it go dark, then plug it back in. A lot of USB weirdness can be cured that way. Even if it's a passive hub, disconnect it from the Mac so that it goes dark. It's amazing how much garbage that clears out.

Do you have anything else that uses MIDI on the Mac? Just wondering if it's the port itself, keyboard setting, Waveform setting, or "device list" within the Mac.
Plus, when you unplug the MIDI keyboard and reconnect, is there any feedback on the Mac when the device disconnects/reconnects normally (Windows has a 2-note "hello/goodbye" when connecting/disconnecting)?
