I believe only time will tell, but it certainly looks that Yamaha and Steinberg are more of a kind than Steinberg and Pinnacle.

Yes, y'all need to calm down. All this posturing changes absolutely nothing. Just sit back and relax and let's see where this all goes.

Please note:
Although this update features some important bug fixes it is an unsupported hot fix version.

And I've spent seven years judging Steinberg. But I will be fair, they have got better. They will at least acknowledge now that their software has problems. They will at least respond in their forums, sometimes, when people suffer from the effects of those bugs. And they have, finally, stopped some the worst predatory practices of their marketing such as leapfrogging and walking away from versions once the refund window in the T&Cs is passed. They still ship .00 versions with four pages of fundamental bugs in them.

I somehow don't think these changes arise because of the 'give it a bump if you think Cubase is great hooray' crowd. Its been the result of years of continual and escalating vocal dissastisfaction from legitamate users, and, even, the press.

Probably all this will show up soon enough in 2005 - and regarding customer support - who knows, but I really doubt any revolutionary changes will take place. It's Steinberg.

Let's hope for a benefitial outcome

Boy, are you mistaken! It's a thing Steinberg has learned from Microsoft; it's not a bug, it's a feature.

I think if I were a Steinberg's client I would feel really pissed off to see this compagny (and consumers data) sold twice in two years...

People wake up!
