I can't wait til this gets a native version. Like the big cave style spring in my AC15C1, sounds nothing like a drippy Fender style. Overloud's SpringAge was my favorite, had models of the AKG and RE-201, but seems they stopped supporting it a few years ago._leras wrote: Tue Oct 17, 2023 9:09 am The UAD one is pure excellent. I find springs to be a bit of a one trick pony though... But when it works...

The AKG is very different to typical spring reverbs - it sounds even less artifical (and less like spring reverb) than the necklace ones... I guess the currently closest native plugins is the Fuse Audio Labs VREV-305 (which emulates a spring reverb that has a kind of similar topography to the AKG)mothra wrote: Sat Oct 21, 2023 4:22 pmI can't wait til this gets a native version. Never bought it. Not sure why.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sat Oct 21, 2023 1:09 pmSounds like they plan on replacing it with something. I'm sure Audio Thing will take care of existing owners. Plus, it still works and they just updated it so you'll be good using the current version for years.
But did a little research ...
https://www.research.ed.ac.uk/en/public ... production
... and King Tubby's Big Knob was apparently a (mostly) stock Altec 9069B stepped high pass filter, which could be subbed in software perhaps with a Black Rooster VHL-3C, or more closely using the Nomad Factory All-Tec EQs v2. Wait, hold up, was there a stealth release of new resizeable and Apple silicon native NF plugins?!
There are also various Ableton, Reaper, MXXX, etc. instructions on how to recreate the Big Knob ... and at least 2 hardware recreations.

I got excited for a moment, but it says it’ll run on Silicon with Rosetta.

Version 2.0.0 (Build 1597) - October 13, 2023Just Installed the demo. ARM Native, according to Pluginfo. Unfortunate we can't display just the Filter but have to load the entire stack.Code: Select all

It still says Rosetta on their product page so I didn’t bother downloading. I’ll have to check it out because there’s some gems.

i liked several of hotto plugs...is there anywhere they are available all together these days?ccDuckett wrote: Tue Oct 17, 2023 5:32 pm It unfortunately never wanted to work reliably, but for a long time, Hotto Engineering's donationware Spring Reverb had a certain "something" that I preferred... xoxos' Spring2 was another I liked, but would "explode" a little too easily. Other than using particular spring IRs I like, Springbox. It may not sound amazing by itself, but does seem to sit in mixes nicely. From what I've heard, both Spirit Reverb and Twangstrom wouldn't lead to buyer's remorse, they sound great (I just don't have them).

Up until a few months ago, I was still checking in at least once a week just to see if maybe...
I wonder if they saw us talking here and decided to throw it out real quick haha. Just got it authorized and double checked with PluginInfo, and wow VST3 AND AS native now..
Probably still get that AKG from UA when it gets cheap but man I am so stoked my big heavenly cave spring is back!!!

Has anyone tried this, or is Waves still in the doghouse?

I didn't care for it at all. Mediocre reverb with not much spring feel. Many other plugins out there that sound much better including impulses.Bombadil wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 4:20 pm Has anyone tried this, or is Waves still in the doghouse?
