yes thank you!Odd Fella wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 2:26 amSet osc phase to max, i.e. free-running.Jbravo wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 2:15 am Is there a possibility to change the phase of the unison voices? I think they all start exactly in phase every time so you always get that flanging effect with every note which is not an effect I like and restricts it to a very specific digital sound which is not always useful

I was surprised to find this limitationTeksonik wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 1:03 pm
So no way to modulate the Pitch for Osc1 and 2 separately using different XForm sources ?
where can I find this quick guide?

So, will there be a Charlatan 3 plugin page on KVR? I still only see C2.

I'm hoping there is a way and I'm just missing it. We'll have to wait to hear from the developer to see what he says.
It's in the install folder as a .txt file. It's not very in depth but covers some of the basics.

I think it might be a bug rather than a limitation honestly? Yeah not a bug, it's even in the txt file:

I clicked the ratio of waveform 2 and the amount of modulation is being applied to waveform 1.
There seems to be an odd conflict.
All 4 of the ratios show the same "modulation list" when right clicking them, which makes no sense to me:

I think Phase 1-4 is also affected.
For pitch and phase, the modulation targets "Osc Pitch" and "Osc Phase" are shared across all four base oscillators. The "S"-shaped icon next to the controls allows activating modulation for a particular base oscillator.

Ah, I get it now. So:
- You can modulate the oscillator tuning with up to 4 sources.
- But every oscillator shares the same list of applied modulation sources
- Including the modulation amounts being actually applied
- And you can't manually automate each oscillator's pitch with external sources because it's not an actual VST3 parameter
- But if you don't want the same pitch modulation applied to every oscillator you can turn it off individually
I'm assuming this was done in the name of CPU efficiency, so I suppose it's understandable.

can someone explain the 4 XFORM things? I can't make head or tail how to use them

Have you tried Polac's VST3 adapter?

I've noticed that when I use ADSR2 to modulate the pitch of OSC2, after a while the attack time changes. If I've set to it attack slowly, after playing ten notes or so the attack time becomes fast

I made a bunch of presets here in case anyone is interested 32 random sounds, a few of which have been adapted from other synths

Basically you choose an input modulator, and the X axis of the graph represents the amplitude of said modulator. The Y axis represents the amount of modulation to apply. It allows you to trigger a new modulation when the input modulator's amplitude reaches a threshold, or directly based on it. So it can be used to do nothing until a threshold is reached, or build up a more complex modulation directly based on the input modulationJbravo wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 4:31 pm can someone explain the 4 XFORM things? One example would be using a Breath Controller. With the following graph, you could open the filter, or alter the pitch, after you blow hard enough and pass the amplitude threshold.

I'm too stupid to run that. I'm letting Charlatan rest for now. No worries.
