Getting a new SSD tomorrow and could use some help with the Windows 10 settings. I'll be connecting it to a USB 3 port but I understand that it's best if you keep it from going to sleep if you want to put Kontakt instruments etc on it and load them from it. So I hope someone here can tell me how to do just that. I did some google searches but it doesn't help that my Windows 10 is in dutch trying to figure this stuff out.

bit of a copout, ie right now Im too lazy to do the work and then cut and paste, im afraid, but if you google 'windows 10 external ssd sleep' you will find page after page telling you how to do it.

If I'm going to be using this SSD on Windows only should I format it to NTFS?
*googles last sentence*
NTFS is best suited for using a drive with Windows devices.
too bad I already put half my stuff on it while exFat.

Yeah, NTFS generally preferable. But, FWIW, definitely use exFAT if you're using the drive with a Mac as well.
