Do you also have to wait for an eternity changing presets ?

EnGee wrote: Mon Oct 30, 2023 12:18 am The difference in version two, afaik, is the resizing GUI and new filters (formant filters).
And:
- Largo 2 offers native 64-bit support for macOS (Apple silicon & Intel)
- with classic waveforms and 68 Wavetables taken from the legendary Microwave and Wave synthesizer as also Q and Blofeld.

I bought the upgrade, only 26 euros.
Looking forward to them adding a dark color schema and fixing some reported bugs.
Yes, I installed the Mac version today in my M1 mini. It runs great inside Logic.
So it has additional wavetables? Great 👍
Where did you buy the upgrade? I bought it from their website (29.99 euro).
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

In comparison to Largo 1? Nope.

RPH seemed to have copy pasted the feature set from Waldorf's website.

I just tried it out. The VST3 in Reaper 7 crashes when you attempt to add outputs to the channel. The VST2 does not have this problem. You need to create a track for Largo2, and make it 8-channel before you add Largo2 VST3.

Yeah, I did. So they didn't add the extra wavetables to Largo2?

Not that I can see, no. Just the ones from version 1. Which is fine, there are loads. Of course, wavetable import would have been great, but...

Thanks for that, I just upgraded (no-brainer for that price, and, I'm confident that they will do some bug fixing now, and also improve the GUI).

I think the biggest improvement should be to the modulation system, to make it easier to assign mod destinations. Having to scroll through a long list is just too time consuming and makes me lose creativity and interest. This should really be a priority for any soft synth in 2023.

Largo has all the wavetables from the Microwave series, the PPG, and the Q/MicroQ's Alt1 and Alt2 wavetables. It's basically a software Blofeld (minus some features, plus some the Blofeld doesn't have). I don't think Waldorf has done any new wavetables since the 80s.

Nave added some, I think. Not sure if Quantum/Iridium did too.

Largo/2 reminds me so much of the Alesis Ion/Microns I had.
The Ion had a tracking generator and a few more filter types, and Largo has wavetables as well as the standard analog waveforms, but almost everything else is the same.
Dual pannable filters, very similar mod options. Even the sounds you can get from them are also very similar.
I don't have any Ions or Microns anymore, but Largo/2 is a more than acceptable substitute.
I'm still playing around with the demo a bit before buying it, but I'll be springing for it soon.
I'm only hesitating because for sound quality GForce really has spoiled me.
Largo is fun for what it is though - pure digital whacky sounds.

Just had a chance to check out the new formant filters, they are quick nice, initial impressions. Still not as awesome as the talkbox like vowel filters on Lush-101, but quite pleasant.

The small text is really atrocious however, I mean, I was expecting that I could just increase the size to increase the text, but even at full screen gui and even larger, the text is super tiny - this is a failed gui just because of the text.

The gui itself isn't as bad as first look, I seem to kind of bypass it after exploring it a bit, not noticing it too much after a while, but, eh.
