Direct MIDI access to Blue Cat Remote Control VST

I got Blue Cat's very nice Remote Control VST working within my Cakewalk DAW.

As I plan to use a lot of instances of this VST to remote control a large number of external audio devices, it means I need to create a large number of Cakewalk MIDI channels, or use another MIDI exchange method (e.g. AZ Controller for Cakewalk).

Is it possible to communicate with the Remote Control VST directly? So I mean direct MIDI I/O to the VST? This would greatly speed up the data throughput rate which is important in my application as I want to drive a number of level meters within a number of the instances of the Remote Control VST.

Also ... are there any plans to offer OSC comms to the VSTs?

Thanks for a great piece of software!

Hi,

There is no direct MIDI connection available. It has to go thru the DAW to make sure everything is in perfect sync and there is not conflict between the plug-in and the DAW (especially on Windows, MIDI connections are limited to a single app). But it should not be a big deal for data throughput.

We currently do not have plans to support OSC natively in plug-ins as it is not available in plug-in formats anyway.

Okay, thanks for the explanation.

Perhaps I missed it... But, are you on Mac or PC? If on Mac... the Stand-alone version of "remote control" is "supposed" to work.
