Is it possible at all ? ACE v2 ?

As I go back to ACE and am amazed at how well-rounded and nice the sounds are in their glorious simplicity in face of a forest of ever so complex and feature-star modern synths, I was wondering if there's anything, anything at all that that could be added to it in order to produce a version 2 while keeping in line the theme of simplicity. And the fact that ACE has a 'big brother'.
Is there ?
Cheers.

just a skin similar to Bazille's Gear Porn, all in one. I know there is one from Plugmon and Acid, but I would love to see the same one from Bazille in ACE.
But then a strange fear gripped me
and I just couldn't ask....
and I just couldn't ask....

In the meanwhile, CLAP ACE in Bitwig with Polymod is already an ACE 2 of sorts!

A bit buggy in its Linux version.pdxindy wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2023 2:03 pm In the meanwhile, CLAP ACE in Bitwig with Polymod is already an ACE 2 of sorts!

The cost of being a maverick.

The status of the Linux versions is a proof that eternity exists.

I think ACE is still my overall favourite u-he plugin, and I do love using the clap in bitwig with poly mod. I’m excited for z3 though so I’m definitely not gonna complain if ACE 2 is a 2026 thing

I wouldn't say no to a CV Seq or 2, and would definitely love a Scale Quantizer. Don't think one's made it's way into ACE yet.

As for CV Seq… Modmappers in Z3 can have a trigger source in Increment mode, turning them into step sequencers. This might find its way back into ACE/Bazille mapping generators, maybe some day…

Pitch Control in Z3 is very West Coast. That may also hint at where I’d take things, once Z3 is out and other products get their well deserved TLC.

1. Copy entire fx section from Hivemevla wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 5:32 pm I was wondering if there's anything, anything at all that that could be added to it in order to produce a version 2 while keeping in line the theme of simplicity.
2. Allow polyphony per oscillator ( not voice stacking entire synth )
3. Add sine waveforms to the oscillators in order to avoid sacrificing LFO for that purpose ( and triangle ).
4. Third oscillator ? Or 4.
5. Mapping generator feels cluncky to use. Replace its interface with something that has modern look and feel.

Mapping Things are going to get a similar treatment as Zebra oscillators, not quite as complex, but certainly a greatly improved user experience.
I don't think oscillator unison fits the concept of ACE, and they wouldn't be stereo anyway. It's what we originally made Hive for.
That said, there are numerous ideas on getting a lot more leverage from the existing modules in ACE. Such as letting the Ramp Generator track pitch, retriggering envelopes, repurposing the mixer.
I don't want to make it too complex.
