A work-around, yes, but not very precise.SeeingInMidi wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 5:47 amUse volume shaper, create your transient curve, set it to one shot mode and trigger through audio input. Anyway just to be in topic, all the transient shaper i tried had an issue with the firts hit, giving an higher peak compared to the following parts.
If it's a transient shaper please load a kick in 4/4, turn the attack all the way up (exagerate just to check how it behave) then take a look at the first kick transient if is different from the following. then stop for 2 sec the loop, and do it again.
If this works without any issue i'll make you a statue, cause every MB transient shaper i tried suffer from this issue

I'm guessing, delay with pitch shifting

Out of curiosity, what are you missing with this approach (other than that it requires a bit of setup, of course..)?martinjuenke wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 8:04 amA work-around, yes, but not very precise.SeeingInMidi wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 5:47 am Use volume shaper, create your transient curve, set it to one shot mode and trigger through audio input. @Jakob Cableguys: any hint on when the new effect will drop?

I prefer specific transient / tonal part splitters like Eventide Physion or SplitEQ over managing the volume alone in a signal. IMO more precise and easier to set up, especially with more "irregular" stuff (aka not the same drum loop over and over).Jakob / Cableguys wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 9:45 amOut of curiosity, what are you missing with this approach (other than that it requires a bit of setup, of course..)?martinjuenke wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 8:04 amA work-around, yes, but not very precise.SeeingInMidi wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 5:47 am Use volume shaper, create your transient curve, set it to one shot mode and trigger through audio input. Of course a matter of taste.

Ah, ShaperBox is looking for transients, not for volume alone either. E.g. a loud sustained bass with a soft attack won't trigger it, while a quieter snare will (depending on Intensity and Threshold settings, of course).martinjuenke wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 11:08 am I prefer specific transient / tonal part splitters like Eventide Physion or SplitEQ over managing the volume alone in a signal. The timeshaper is already in the delay area…
I see those curves under the shape. Looks like a reduction. But a compressing shaper we have already. Reverb would make sense if I shape the reverb time. But why should that be the most demanded?
A pitch shaper seems to be something that would perfectly fit into the collection and it isn’t there yet…

As Martin already wrote, a more precise behaviour with transients that doesn't belong to a certain easy to design grid, or just change over the time, like drums (and that's where i want to use it).
Last but not least as you wrote, it's also easier/faster to setup.
I don't know if what's coming is a transient shaper, but if not, would be awesome if you could implement one that behave without the issue i wrote few posts above

All those shouting transient shaper, remember Shapebox is at heart an LFO-type tool. Most people want their transients consistent. LFO-automated Transient shaping is probably a pretty niche studio tool demand.
Just watch, now Ive said that, 2 days later... TransientShaper is announced.
