I agree with the message that you can get by with one reverb plugin. I happen to only use LiquidSonics Seventh Heaven ($69, iLok) which is their simplified emulation of a Bricasti M7. I just pick the preset room and only adjust the reverb time. I don't feel the need to adjust dozens of parameters. To me this would be a distraction from songwriting.

I do occasionally mess around with Valhalla Super Massive which is excellent considering it is free.

I also own but don't use :
- a hardware Lexicon PCM-81. I need to sell this one of these days.
- The Lexicon plugins which annoyingly split different algorithms across separate plugins.
- Valhalla Room which never sat comfortably in the mix for me.

That said, most (if not all), convolution reverbs allow you to adjust decay, room size, etc etc.

It's just another way of looking at convolution reverb IMO. Don't get me wrong, I want to like it, I'm just struggling to identify the USP.
FabFilter's introductory video on YouTube does an excellent job of showcasing their plugin. In my opinion, Pro-R stands out as the most unique reverb plugin when it comes to its workflow. This recent update has really added the finishing touches to its feature list.

The beauty of FabFilter's approach is that they focus on getting the job done with simplicity and efficiency. They don't clutter their plugins with gimmicky features that most people rarely use. It's all about delivering the essential tools for a great experience.

Time will tell but I'm not convinced yet.
So go and download the trial and get 30 days to figure it out.
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

I don't own Pro-R, but one thing that interests me about Pro-R2 is that I could use the same reverb in Logic on iOS as well as Mac/Windows. I'm not sure that is worth paying over $100 for the desktop version and then another $40 for iOS though.

Using reverb controls or other controls on other plugins is not a distraction- if you’ve spent the time to learn the tools purchased it’s usually fast to make adjustments and not rely on stock presets (and then save your own presets).

I actually chose such a simple reverb, Seventh Heaven, that there is nothing to learn. :)

Just tried and vintage mode sounds great on analog drum machine.
I think of R2 vintage mode like VVV in reverse. R2 could be transparent or condensed but not VVV dirty or in your face.
Murderous duck!

I just purchased the pro R2 upgrade.
I don't understand, I was in a meeting discussing about bullshit topics and my fingers reached my phone unconsciously and rage-purchased it....
I wonder how many people are in my head....

Haha, you mean it is like my wife buying shoes when upset.
I do same with plugins.

So now I have pro R2 and VVV, I guess I am set for life.

I see in my account my normal upgrade discount percentage was 45%, but there’s a slash through it and says 65% in red. Does anyone know if it’s red because the 65% is a time-limited offer, or is only in red because it’s a new product? I also wonder if the 65% remains intact when Black Friday comes and there is an extra percentage, or would it likely revert back to 45% + 25% for BF, does anyone recollect this happening?

My understanding is that the 45% off price would be if you owned other FF products but not Pro-R and that the 65% off price is the regular upgrade discount.
I'm going to wait until they have their seasonal extra 25% off everything and will upgrade then.
