Is Arturia Analog Lab Play really a synth? I'm surprised about the 4GB download.

Just to be clear, I wasn't arguing about the priceDirtgrain wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 4:23 pm Two days of arguing about two dollars. Keeping it real, KVR style.
I didn't even intend to be arguing at all. Until...
I never said anything to suggest I thought that. I said that you brought too many assumptions into this, and proceeded to show that I can make my own assumptions, without being able to prove anything. If that makes me think that most people are me, then the same would apply to you.
Anyway, apologies! Back to the bargains!
Until forever fades away.

Isn’t it just a rebrand of the version of Analog Lab that often gets bundled with a lot of hardware?Uncle E wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:00 pm Is Arturia Analog Lab Play really a synth? I'm surprised about the 4GB download.

Is that one also 4GB? Can anything be deleted after installation to cut down on the size?WatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:29 pm Isn’t it just a rebrand of the version of Analog Lab that often gets bundled with a lot of hardware?

I know the install is monolithic, not sure if you get options to remove parts later. My guess would be not, but could be wrong.Uncle E wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:30 pmIs that one also 4GB? Found the solution, the Arturia Service Center allows moving folder to a different drive:

They are somewhat sample based. If you have to whole collection it's about 30gb.Uncle E wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:00 pm Is Arturia Analog Lab Play really a synth? I'm surprised about the 4GB download.

Analog Lab Play is pretty fantastic. Easily enough there for anyone to make great sounding full tracks, even drums.

Yes, there’s a huge world of good pro sounding plugins out there for nothing, that, Valhalla SuperMassive, the free VCV/Cardinal, Melda Free etc.Uncle E wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 11:23 pm Analog Lab Play is pretty fantastic. I’m too far down the frittering my meagre pay on stuff rabbit hole to turn back now though.

That's a great price. Arturia will have V-Collection on sale for BF, maybe the upgrade will also be on sale.

Yes, but almost all of it is "typical synthesis" or physical modeling (Pianos).
I can imagine that it's also that big because it includes basically all synth engines from all of V Collection. You can use the Analog Lab to play all presets pack that Arturia offers for any of their instruments, I think. So you basically get a "lite" player version of all their synth products.

I was so silly and bought all additional products after Total Studio Max 3.5 separately. Only Farm Stone and Chicarelli things are missing. The upgrade price doesn't take this into account as kind of benefit and is therefore unreasonably too high for me. Will not upgrade. Your revenue loss. Just saying...Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 6:56 pmThat counts as a MAX product (note that is listed at the link in the list of qualifying products), if you are logged in the appropriate discount coupon will appear in your cart and you can apply that.

oeksound is offering a 20-day extension/reset on product trials through November. It's not the black Friday deal I was hoping for, but if you were hoping for a longer trial, it's something.

Roli are having their Black Friday sale https://roli.com/store/black-friday
I picked up Luftrum's Ambient Darklight soundset for Equator2. I'm assuming there are new samples in there but even if not it sounds great and is my kind of thing.
