Delay Question

So, I was comparing the built-in delay FX of three synths. Same settings, i.e. a delay of 1/8D and 1/4 on the two sides, ping-pong, 100% wet. Zero attack on the envelopes and very short decay to hear it better.
Still, that resulted in a different rhythm on each of them.
Shouldn't it produce the same rhythm or are there different ways to implement delays regardless of the settings?

Basic ping-pong delay has only single delay time setting. In your example, you have two different delay time settings 1/8D and 1/4. There are multiple different ways to implement ping-pong with those two time settings:
1. use only 1/8D time
2. use only 1/4 time
3. run two ping-pongs in parallel, one with 1/8D time, another with 1/4 time
4. run single ping-pong with alternating delay times
5. probably some other variations ...
Some ping-pongs start on left, some start on right channel.
And if you have a stereo input signal there can be even more variations on how the input signals are routed to ping-pong delay.
