i love noise that is changing all the time, static noise is boring, that is one of the reason why random dropouts are very nice, they create movement but not a lot of lo fi plugins have it

Oxide is the only one I sometimes use at this point - though I don’t think of it as “tape” but more as a fast saturation and EQ plugin with some good presets.
Deleted most of the rest of these kind of plugins from my computer due to disuse - definitely one of my least favorite plugin categories.
The other one still installed is Echoleffe, but I didn’t get it for the tape feature but it can be used as one.

London Acoustics Taipei - the only one I use.
I don't use tape for lo-fi though.

I was using the IK tapes. Primarily the MCI JH24 model or the Studer A80 model on individual tracks, and the Ampex 440 model on the master. For orchestral work, I used just the Revoc PR99 model on the master only.
But they just take too much CPU and IK refuses to offer an ECO mode, so I switched to the UAD Studer A800. I get the same effect from it as the IK tapes, plus it doesn’t have the weird phase shift that is characteristic of convolution, like the IK tapes have, and it takes ⅓ the CPU.
I’m still using the IK 440 for now, until UAD finally takes the Ampex ATR-102 native.

I have two
Looser I made for myself and is a freebie
In mixes, I have a Combinator (Reason) with Looser for Wow & Flutter coupled with Hornet Analog Stage for the Saturation. I drop them in on every track (final Reverb) when I feel I have the Mix sorted.
In the Masters, I have used G-Sonique Analog Tape for about a year now along with Softube Sat Knob and Scream4's tape setting. All doing mild things so the cumulative result is rich & deep.
I have music in the Cafe right now: viewtopic.php?p=8785819#p8785819

Not many to add here, except maybe DAW Cassette? Shall I grab all the ones mentioned and add a #poll so people can vote?

Yeah, use it on all my individual tracks as last insert before the limiter. Also on the masterbus as a part of the console one channelstrip in the shape section.Hidenori wrote: Mon Nov 13, 2023 8:25 am I like Softube Tape, especially using the type B that bumps a little low freq.
