KORG Collection 4

A Quick Question: I bought the Analog Edition of the Legacy Collection years ago and upgraded these when the Collection 2 came out to their newer V2 Versions (that is Polysix, MS-20 and Mono/Poly).
Did not buy M1 or Wavestation in that time though.

Is it true that I have no option at all to upgrade to V4 with any sort of discount?

Short answer: technically no.

Long answer: I was in the same boat as you, except I bought the Digital Edition, since I was mostly interested in the M1/Wavestation side of things.

When v3 was out, had a bit of back and forth with support when I explained I didn't think it was fair that M1 LE (IIRC a bundled product with some Korg hardware) had a proper upgrade path, while the owners of some other legacy bundles had to pay full price, and in the end I was issued a discount code (not the full upgrade discount, mind you, but still better than full price) to the complete v3 collection.

tl;dr, state your point, don't be antagonizing and they might find a solution that works for you.

Korg is offering an upgrade to V4 based on the Legacy Bundle for 199$ so my guess is they only mean the Digital version of it and kind of forgot about the Analog Edition users (just a guess).

I was checking the Korg ID Page and got no offers from Korg in my account.

Maybe I should try to get in contact with support of Korg as well.

Hey Phil,

That's the problem: from what I remember, when they say "Legacy Bundle" they specifically mean the old bundle that included both "Digital" and "Analog" plugins, first it was KLC, then at some point it became Korg Collection; so we pretty much have only half the requirements for the regular upgrade path

...Yeah, it's a bit of a mess, but thankfully I came across someone understanding when I got in touch with support.

Turns out, as an owner of a M1 Le licence (which I prolly got for buying a Korg MIDI controller), I was able to upgrade for $249 (using the Upgrade button at https://www.korguser.net/login.asp? Back in the 90s, I once saw someone play a Korg Legacy. It gave me so much GAS that even now, over 25 years later, I started drooling at the sight of a picture of it (back in the day, all I could afford was a tiny Casio toy rompler for kids)

Arp Odyssey 1.5.2 VST3 unfortunately not showing up in Ableton Suite 11.3.4 on Mac. Any ideas? Did full rescan, reinstall, restart.

The same here, but the AU version shows in Live. In Bitwig however, the vst3 shows!

My issue was that my old projects with the vst2 version of Korg Odyssey wasn't loading, like it wasn't installed.

Someone at reason talk forums said that deleting all odyssey plugin files (vst, vst3 & components), uninstalling through Korg Software Pass, and reinstalling through Korg Software Pass, fixed for her/him.

I tried, didn't work.

Then I restarted my MBA because, erm... just because.

Didn't work.

Then I clicked rescan in Live's options while holding "option".

THEN IT WORKED! PHEW!

I have the earlier bundle of the MS20, M1, Wavestation et al and stopped at Odyssey. My price is $149. It's a good deal but somehow it's always that bit more than my impulse-buy trigger. Probably because I know I don't use what I have nearly enough.

One of the best things about Arturia is Analog Lab (despite its flaws). If Korg had a similar unifying app that worked well as a front end for patch browsing and then let you into the synth for editing it might push me over the edge, but that will likely never happen.
